Provided I could add on a few more episodes or even a six season, I would lengthen out what we got to lend more nuance to her integrating with the group, living with Adora again, and reconciling (or not reconciling) with the other princesses. I feel like Frosta and Mermista could be less willing, maybe even unwilling to see Catra as an ally, similar to how Casta remains wary of Shadow Weaver up until their little side quest resolves. Plus, an extra season would give Prime a bit of room to breath and for the best friend squad to spend some time engendering rebellion on other planets, which would heighten the sense of failure Adora feels once they come back and retake Erelandia.

Just have her actually regret shit after season 3, season 5 looks like the only reason she cared was because she couldn't manipulate someone into giving her what she wants-
