Not to mention she was likely the one who instituted the change of having what was previously Offcolors who were Shattered at birth simply “fixed” with cybernetic enhancements. So most of the Era 2 Gems owe their lives to her.

Ultimately they are now the British Royal Family of Homeworld, and just like the Royals they are a source of tourism revenue and a rallying point for both establishment conservatives and establishment liberals to cone together over.

The physical signs of being Shattered and Corrupted remain forever, without population replenishment they are a dying race and without Pink’s Essence a lot of types of Gems are reproductively extinct, and there’s villainous Gems out there. “Too weak a heart” is fan guesswork based on how his human half looks and acts both in CYM and the movie. Extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, pallid skin, dark circles under the eyes.

For sure we know he would not have survived birth without constant healing power from Pink. Either it’s some magical “has half a soul” or “is only half a person” handwave, or something more real. If it’s more a real thing, like Gems can reproduce without sacrificing themselves but Steven was just destined to be a miscarriage, then it’s likely his heart.

Going by greek mythology the only one who can punish them is another being with the same feats, another diamond, not half-breed like Steven which is comparable to a semigod

Hercules kind of redeemed Hera. His is the last story she plays villain in. Plus, his whole shtick was destroying the old chaos left behind by the Titans or unleashed by the gods which created a world relatively safe from danger. At least compared to before. Plus he freed Prometheus, who still wants to help make humanity better.

Steven is basically Hercules. Bismuth is totally Prometheus. Hell, the human creation myth of Greek mythology is basically Garnet.

Then why not make him a Pink Zombie? If there's anytime for PD to cry it would be knowing her son is destined to die as withered afterbirth. She didnt need to sacrifice herself to keep Steven alive or healthy considering she can literally bring back the dead and heal any wound short of shattering on her own.

Rose made Steven with a gem half because she wanted to make something never seen before. Steven is literally only half human, not a full human with a gem, his light part is just as much a part of him as any of his organs. I highly doubt Rose couldn’t make a 100% human child that could live considering literally most of her other powers.

Which shows it was a last minute retcon to save face. If Yellow Diamond had that power she would of used it to reform Pink Diamond ASAP and would find out that the shards are fake and that shes alive/missing rather than dead. Sugar's a bigger hack than JK Rowlimg at this point. Even her last minute revisionism creates more plot holes than it solves.
