>they do the whole "i thought SOMEONE finally understood us! but youre just like THE REST OF THEM!" bit

>Another Owl House thread
But desu I don't like that too. It's a cliche.

just watched this episode and it was the worst one so far

>YOU LIED TO ME???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She's a cutie but yes I do get tired of that cliche.

the whole school plot is dumb
i was promised luz and eda, not luz in Hogwarts

who are these semen demons?

Fuck off Magic School as a concept is literally cool as fuck.
Its an environment where knowledge is LITERALLY power.
1st character is I don't remember her name because she only appeared in one episode.
Second character is Amity who is a rival and so far a legitimately likely canon GF candidate for the the female main character, who is pretty well written and is just enjoyable to have on screen.

Literally nothing is happening in this show. There's no antagonist, no threats, no stakes, no compromises, no substance whatsoever.
It's just a bunch of dysfunctional children causing their own baby's first writing tropes and refusing to communicate with their allies/'enemies'.
The show's is written by a dyed hair woman-child and it fucking shows from her total disconnect with real complex life issues.

Amanda O'Neal and Diana Cavendish

Seethe. Anyone with eyes, ears and doesn't have an agenda can tell this show is building up to something. I'm glad they're not rushing the big bad out so soon.

>There's no antagonist
Also I think its implied that the Antagonist is gonna end up being the emperor. And maybe the series will end with fusing the magic world and the human world. So kind of the opposite of the Star Vs the Forces of Evil ending.

>I-it's building up to s-something you'll see!
Fuck off, you're one of those 'play this anime game, it gets good 15 hours in I swear!' aren't you?
I watched it until episode 9, the episode with that awful character Gus. If you can't give your story any real meat, danger or goal that far in you've already failed.
Not to mention that even if it eventually builds up to something, we'll still have to see the god awful cast of characters battle that threat with their combined 74 IQ.

I have absolutely no faith in the emperor or any real danger/stakes for the characters. Every villain as been a complete pathetic pushover, including every guard in the emperor's army. If his henchmen are such a joke I expect him to be as well.
Every time the show builds up to something interesting it completely self sabotage itself.
>The guard/regime is suppose to be a constant threat, turns out to be goofy incompetent guards.
>Amity is supposed to be the top magic student and Luz's rival, she gets humiliated and pacified the second time we see her.
>The school of magic is supposed to be a strong fortress of knowledge, but everyone inside is retarded, weak and gets tricked by a human covert in shit, including the director
>When seeing Owl lady's sister I thought we would finally have a competent strong threat, nope she's just as retarded as everyone else and gets easily duped by tied shoelaces and pack of trail mix

If I had to describe this show, it would be 'Damn, what a fucking waste of a setting'

Imagine seething this hard about the plot not moving "fast" enough. Watch less shonen ADHD-kun.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENIN TO ME!

Adventure Time did this shit too and it fucking sucked. Just make a real show you christmas-haired bitch

Unlike you, jingling keys is not enough to keep most people's attention.

So you are a shonenfag?

His criticisms were completely valid

This show is one of several post-2010 shows obviously made by people who make quirky art online and just put whatever they think happens to be "neat" in an episode and don't give a fuck about making an interesting show.

No? Shonen's are shit due to inevitable power creep and the fact that japan can't make a story without the main character being the chosen one with a bag of MacGuffins.

>And maybe the series will end with fusing the magic world and the human world.
>So kind of the opposite of the Star Vs the Forces of Evil ending.
But that's exactly how Star vs ended, what the fuck.

>don't give a fuck about making an interesting show.
This is where you're projecting. The show IS interesting. To a lot of people, its not interesting to YOU and thats perfectly fine but not every cartoon needs to get to the big bad at lightning speed.
Steven Universe took its time with it, and focused on world building and personal progression like The Owl House is, and for the entirely of season 1 Star vs was just le wacky funneh random cartoon.
Not every cartoon has to get to the big bad lightning quick.

Sorry I meant without the genocide.

Man, I won't lie: I'll be very surprised if this show gets a third season.
God, this show is so fucking shit!

>The show IS interesting.
It really, REALLY isn't. I dropped it around the sleepover episode because of how aimless and dull it is.

Also ir's widely agreed on that SU's biggest flaw is how it utterly loved to waste the viewer's time. There's so much shitty filler that plagues most of the show you could across what they were going for in half the series' length.

>Steven Universe took its time with it, and focused on world building and personal progression like The Owl House is
And Steven universe sucked ass.
Also, not those anons, but I think the problem with the owl house is the opposite. It goes way too fast to solve all his problems and has no real build up. Enemies get redeemed way too easily and problems are easily fixed

With an ending like that genocide is inevitable. It's just that Star vs was especially bad because it had TWO waves of genocide. First wave was Star destroying magic and wiping out anyone that was born a magical creature, second was monsters literally attacking humans after Star fused the worlds together.

It's the same dull meandering shit as late AT, and every show on CN right now

SoL anime is at least interesting with its music and direction sometimes. There's a reason why TTG got huge despite being bad and so many of these gay dumb shows fail

You don't get it. My point is it might not be interesting to you but it is interesting to a lot of people you narcissistic cunt.
>Also ir's widely agreed on that SU's biggest flaw is how it utterly loved to waste the viewer's time
To a lot of people SU's slowburn is a pro. Because everyone is used to western cartoons that have the monster of the week status, and the big bad being revealed early, and once that happens its the same formulaic path till the final episode. I like that there's cartoons attempting to slow things down.

user, I'm not even the same user you originally replied to, I just agree that it's dull as shit.
>To a lot of people SU's slowburn is a pro.
If you're implying that ANYONE liked the townie filler, you're a liar and a scoundrel. You can have a slow buildup without wasting entire SEASONS on pointless bullshit. That isn't "slowing things down", that's literally not having a plot at all, only to shit one out whenever they're at risk of cancellation.

user if you actually followed SU from episode to episode you'd realize that the ONLY problem with SU's "filler" episodes is because we had to deal with the frequent and fucking long hiatus'. If Stevenbomb bullshit never happened the filler episodes would be a lot more tolerated, but the long waits between episodes made them stand out more as a negative than they normally would. If you were to watch the entire series blind with every episode already released.
Its about PERSPECTIVE user.

>You don't get it. My point is it might not be interesting to you but it is interesting to a lot of people you narcissistic
Is it? Because the only thing I see about this show around is Lumity

>you'd realize that the ONLY problem with SU's "filler" episodes is because we had to deal with the frequent and fucking long hiatus'. no, in retrospective, the filler episodes where a bunch of shit. They are now worse than before because Future acts like Steven never had a happy childhood despite multiple filler episodes proving otherwise. SU is now objectivelly better if you skip all the townies because only then does Future make sense

Yeah a lot of the filler episodes were underwhelming when I first watched them but it was mostly because I had to deal with waiting months for new episodes of SU and saw them as "wasting" and episode slot in the Steven Bombs. As I rewatched the series after SU future I was able to appreciate some of them more without having to deal with the wait.
>SU is now objectivelly better if you skip all the townies because only then does Future make sense
Nah.

Woah...
W-Who is that?
She's so hot.

>As I rewatched the series after SU future I was able to appreciate some of them more without having to deal with the wait.
more like you where conditioned to like it out of some kind of show stockholm syndrome.
And sorry, but it does. Future relies on the audience thinking Steven had an absolutely miserable childhood with barely any happiness, and the townies are full of adventures where Steven is happy living a calmer life in between gem adventures

I hated SU and even I can admit that the amount of mysteries and characters flaws the cast needed to overcome where enough to carry the show and keep you interested.
The war, rose, gem's origin, fusions, back stories, connie relashionship, amethyst self esteem, perl's ptsd, garnet's relashionship, Steven's brain damage, etc.
You always had missing pieces waiting to be filled, same with the journal and mysteries in gravity fall.

Owl house literally has nothing going on. Mysteries and conflict are usually given closure by the end of each episode. I never had anything to look forward to the next episode, the characters have nothing to fight or grow towards.
Luz doesn't have any flaws to overcome, she's pretty much the perfect nerd girl archetype apart from being a bit of a klutz. King is the annoying shit comedic relief character and won't change. Owl lady was already an outcast with an hearth of gold from the start, no buildup.

The only thing to look forward to is the emperor, and he's most likely gonna be a shit king v.2 considering what his army and subordinate look like.

Its even worse because they just met each other, so the detention kids should know she said those thing before she knew they where using the secret room to study.
