im ready for a nice, genuine and civil discussion about the technical qualities of the show
storytelling, characters, production, aesthetics what did you like about this cartoon and what did you feel it did poorly? no politics please
personally i feel like the show was just lost, plots came in and out of existence out of nowhere, there was absolutely no control, pacing or consistency. mainly because it wanted to be an artsy, storyboard-driven "just let everyone do whatever they feel *eats a weed* maaaaaaaaaaaann" at the same time as a serious, grounded and plot heavy show. and ended up accomplishing neither.
I like the songs and characters and stuff. Fragments was cool
Blake Cruz
I liked the soundtrack and the episodes where the characters just chilled, like Snow Day. Thats where the show was at its best.
Matthew Davis
Rebecca Sugar is literally a pedophile who proudly showed off her child porn she drew and helped John K rape people

i wish we got more cool adventures and monster fights the first season where almost every episode was a different adventure to a magical place or with some cool corrupted gem, that was the good stuff imo and id watch a show that focused mainly on that they started dwindling later on, focus shifted more on the characters and their feelings and it all became one big cry session. it went from a magical action adventure cartoon to a slice of life/drama set in on a magical backdrop

I agree. I have several issues but the main one that kills it for me is that nothing has any consequences. Characters often do awful shit and once they feel sorry about it, they are let go as if nothing happened. Same with the protagonist who went batshit crazy on the last season, to the point where he is canonically a murderer, but he just gets hugged and everything is fine. I despise it when cartoons do this and SU did this with 90% of the cast. The only characters who survived was Peridot, the only villain who had an arc of any kind, and Jasper, who was cucked of any arc or development by the crew so hard that even die-hard SU fags agree it was an issue.
Steven Universe discussion is not welcome here nor are pedos like her, please stop being a basic bitch who has their choice of cartoons dictated by advertising and what's """popular""" and watch the actually good cartoon shows of the last few years
Angel Lee
reminder of that one episode where, instead of hearing about lars on his cool adventures in space fighting aliens and having space ship battles and potentially learning about emerald.... we got to watch him crywank about his crush
Thomas Jenkins
the show is written almost entirely by a buncha women who all have their different ideas of how it should go and given a reign over their own little corner of the show instead of working in unison over one big project, all with their own ships and interest in personal drama and the only things uniting them all being that, theyre millenial women who got picked off of the internet and naturally have more interest in shipping, feeling and character drama than action or adventures. it feels like none of em even want to MAKE a cartoon as much as they want to 1. *having made a cartoon* 2. sit around doodling charas they like
Lincoln Rodriguez
I watched it up to about the thanksgiving episode with Carl and then watched episodes sporadically over the rest of the series. I don't really care about lore but I like how the earily episodes had a sense of mysticism to them like the strawberry battleground or the Lunar Sea Spire. It seemed like before gems had a lot bigger presence in Earth's history which I wish they stuck with. Story wise, it had some problems with how things fit into the bigger narrative. Like Rose for example. The idea of looking at martyrized figure and breaking down the impossible standards that people in the present hold them too is fine. But in the bigger picture of SU it becomes the reveloutionary leader was a whiny brat who used the people around her and the space dictators are cool wine aunts who can be reasoned with.

the Steven Bomb pacing of the show was CN trying to put it into Hiatus death-rolls after the Gay showed up. Season 1 was kino, and if the series had been allowed to remain on that path without meddling from executive interest it could have stayed kino.
CN ruins yet another series with their horseshit, what else is new.

>focus shifted more on the characters and their feelings and it all became one big cry session And the thing is, it didn't even do this properly. Any time a character hit a wall with a personal issue, a rousing speech from Steven made it all better and suddenly that was that. Part of what makes the movie so good is that this exact issue DOESN'T happen with Spinel, she has serious abandonment issues from the start and she still has them even at the end of the movie (she even points out that Steven's usual tactic of upbeat advice doesn't magically solve everything, and she only is "beaten" when she herself realizes how messed up she is). Future is easily the worst offender of this, because not only does it retroactively give Steven trauma that was not hinted at even slightly in the series, but it also completely mislabels what his issues actually are.

I've seen worse here. You people worship at the alter of Toph Bei Fong, don't come at me with this puritan shit specifically when it suits you.

>the reveloutionary leader was a whiny brat who used the people around her and the space dictators are cool wine aunts who can be reasoned with
everything you mentioned and mainly the last part happens for most likely the same reason as why we get character drama now instead of cool alien shit the writers dont seem to wanna be making a magical cartoon about aliens and monsters and cool adventures. they wanna be writing a suburban coffee shop story
everyone, including the mystical rebellion leader and the horrifying god-like rulers of an entire alien species get turned into somewhat charming OC archetypes we could meet in a slice of life anime

I have enjoyed pornography of the Gems The show itself is not to my liking and I find a majority of the fanbase to be... distasteful?
Immortal rock women was an awesome premise squandered on shitty people.

>assumes user has the doublethink you want him to have for the sake of a gotcha, when he never said a thing about the former >also equates actual, real life child pornography to illustrated smut

>Not voting for Yellow Zircon Blue Zircon's been doing nothing except spread lies and belittle the diamond authority
She has the real stuff and you know it Even in her recent psa she put in her fetish with the two boys getting married
Eli Gonzalez
wrong, yellow zircon got into power thru fruad half of the gems that voted for him were shattered ages ago!
Levi James
They were shattered because of Blue Zircon's inability to tell the truth
Joshua Butler
that doesnt change the fact that they couldnt have voted for yellow because they werent there! and what about all those blue ballots found bubbled on yellow colonies? how do you explain those?
Adam Anderson
>blue ballots found bubbled on yellow colonies That was always a stupid rumor and only fucking retards fall for it
