It's not anything grand like season 1 of South Park, Rick and Morty, Family Guy, or Spongebob which can be arguably seen as one of the best seasons of those shows. The Simpsons, while I think is better than all those shows pre-season 9, alternatively has it's first season as kind of meh. It has it's charm but unless I'm planning to bingewatch, I skip it. The only episodes really worth watching are Bart the Genius, Bart the General, Moaning Lisa, The Telltale Head, and Krusty Gets Busted. The season has its charm for its poor animation choices, character introductions, and all the characters they tried so hard to push into relevancy.

I didn't like it, too cheesy & overly sweet. Saw that statue decapitation episode a while back, which was supposed to be Bart Simpson's most badass accomplishment, but it was extremely sappy, especially when he returns the head at the end

I really like that one personally. It establishes Bart is actually a good kid inside but does bad things because it gives him attention. Episodes about why Bart is like he is and how he is misunderstood (especially at the time with the media reaction to Bart being a rebel) are some of my favorites.
