>shows Long Island as part of New Jersey
Why do shows do this

More proof

What is Long Island actually part of and why should I care?

Well it's part of the state New York and, for one thing, the way these maps are drawn also gives fucking New York City to New Jersey. Which is sacrilege.

Long Island is a colony of New Jersey, they aint real New Yorkers

>NYC is also part of New jersey then

Stay mad, Yankee
Long Island is rightful Jersey territory

Then at least redraw the maps so NYC is excluded

>What is Long Island actually part
New York. Both Brooklyn and Queens are on Long Island but they're technically not considered Long Island.

>why should I care?
It's basic geography. Can't hurt to know it.

The "technically" is in the wrong part of that sentence

Imagine how much better New York would be if that den of hymies, dagos and yuppies we know as Jew York city was part of Joisey instead.
Glad Butch Hartman is redpilled in the JYC question

(((FAIRY GODPARENTS)))!

everything north and west of the city is pretty and you really don't realize how huge the state is until you drive to buffalo
jersey and connecticut are jokes by comparison

It is, though. NYC has nothing in common with the rest of the state of New York. It's a wretched, crime ridden shithole like the rest of New Jersey.

Even parts of long island are too if you stay on the north shore

yes but the foods decent and an alcoholic will never not have somewhere to go

Jersey and NYC wish they had a team as good as the New York Islanders

>finding a fellow Islanders fan in Zig Forums of all places
how do you feel about the whole Barzal/cap situation?

I wouldn't speak so soon, the Rangers got handed a rebuild on a silver platter because muh big market teams

It's kind of amazing that the Islanders are actually a respectable team again. Maybe not cup contenders but I enjoyed watching them through the Conference finals this year and hope they can get out of their cap hell.

Also this is now a hockey thread.

fuck hockey this ain't canada

I completely respect the Islanders and would've much preferred seeing them win than Tampa Gay.

I hated tampa bay when the islanders played them but I have to respect Stamkos coming back for one shift, scoring a goal while injured, and then fucking leaving again

From what I've heard, more trades are coming to alleviate the cap crunch. For the first time in my life I have faith in management to get shit done.
Very true, I'm a practice goalie for a lot of the local pros and I skated the other day with a couple Rangers. Fox is so good, his hockey IQ is off the charts. Honestly, looking forward to the legitimate return of the Battle of New York

It's so refreshing to have this conversation on this board of degenerates

Like most threads on a topic away from its native board, conversation can happen without excessive shitposting

>rewarded for being the only team swept through not just the qualifiers but the whole Stanley Cup tournament
>the lottery ball was dropped
>they still get all the big free agents because muh Madison Square Garden
>oh btw remember Panarin who signed with the Rangers for less money than the Islanders offered him
whatever, as long as the Islanders win the cup before the Rags do (preferably in their new arena), I'm fine with a competitive decade

As a Tourist, and visiting friends there, it wasn't as dangerous as your standard city. That city where are places you must pass through but God forbids you put a foot outside.
But it's fucking expensive. Except for the transportation which was surprisingly cheap compared to my expectations.

Most animated shows are made by those accursed west coast Californians who have no knowledge of this. For example, American Dragon: Jake Long takes place in NYC but it just feels like California regardless. They have little idea of how its like in the Big Apple.

there are a few things in NYC that aren't expensive, like dollar slices of pizza, or bagels, or free/pay what you wish museums, or the Staten Island Ferry

it's just surrounded by soul crushing costs for everything else

I'm definitely a little salty the Rags got handed a quick rebuild so quickly after being a contender in the first half of the decade. Hopefully the Isles will be able to compete on the FA market once the Belmont arena is finish. Sucks to move on from the Coliseum, but it's for the best

I'm really happy to have UBS arena, it's the best of all worlds where it's right on the Queens/LI border, is accessible both by car /and/ LIRR, and will actually be built specifically for hockey. It's definitely going to help in making the Islanders seen as a legit hockey team again.

If only this were the case upstate new york wouldn't have to pay all its ludicrously high taxes to go to that fucking apocalyptic long turd of a city and it could be part of the bad state with all the other bad people. Also Quomo could live there and just never fucking come back...

It's such a godsend for the franchise, accessibility has always held the Isles back. I was a season ticket holder their first year in Brooklyn and it was a nightmare. The only thing that made it bearable was that the team was good, it's no wonder they couldn't break 10K attendance when they sucked

dude it's the other way around, people downstate pay so much in taxes to subsidize the people upstate. but i do agree it should be split anyway

Long Island is nice, the city can suck it though

Based Eggman, I'd run through a wall for that guy and he's not even my coach

New York and New Jersey should be merged together desu.
