As with any genre, I expect good stories with interesting characters. Superpowers are a narrative crutch that disallow for characters to be properly fleshed out and developed. Once you are "the person who runs really fast", or "the one with super intellect", that's all you ever are because the writer is using those abilities as a substitute for real characterization.
