DC's Continuity

So I like DC, but I stopped reading it after the whole Rebirth and Doomsday Clock stuff. Is that fucking continuity still the main continuity? Has DC announced any sort of reboot that will get away with it? Care to recommend some current good DC comics that are outside the Rebirth continuity, or that have been published in the last few years?

Thanks in advance guys.

Learn to google, you lazy, entitled retard. It is not Zig Forums's function to spoonfeed you. Go to hell.

DC continuity is post crisis + anything Mr Mxy wanted to change at the time he brought it back like bringing Clark father back to life.

It was fucking horrible and if Javins is pushing you market research people to collect only warm reception to it I know we'll have weekly comics full of faggy characters and devoid of continuity.

I believe Death Metal is set to “fix” DC’s continuity in some way. There was a recent initiative known as 5G DC was planning, but that was shelved. There’s going to a brief mini event next year which incorporates elements of 5G, but besides that the whole thing is dead in the water. As for comics outside of continuity, I recommend Shade, the Changing Girl.

>after the whole Rebirth and Doomsday Clock stuff
So, a few months ago? I jest, but
this cunt can fuck off, smarmy twat

Anyway read The Green Lantern, essentially in its own lane, and the continuity stuff is gonna change soon again with Future State, a future event that was once going to be the new new 52, and then something teased as an omniverse where continuity matters less. Jimmy Olsen was also fun.

Being a spazzy asshole is not a personality

Why do you insist on spoonfeeding casuals? Are really so delusional as to think they actually want to get into comics? I assure you, they don't.

>DCYOU
Bunn almost destroyed all Johns and Parker work

I don't know how to convince you to be kind and normal, so i'm not going to try. But gatekeeping is fucking corny- there's tons of things we each don't know, or discover late, ask about, etc. It's called being curious. It's called talking about comics. I'm personally very thankful for the countless great recs i've gotten here over the years, and glad to share some of my own when asked.

Dude, I wish I was employed at DC. I just want to know if there is anything worthy of reading right now there.

>fictional anecdotes
Every fucking time with this. Stop fucking lying about how you totally got into comics because of recs. That does not happen, ever. No casual in the history of anything has EVER actually wanted to to get into comics. They have movies and TV shows they can watch instead. So fuck you and shove that shit right back up your ass.

OP here. I've already read Shade the Changing Girl; it was pretty, pretty good. Is the Changing Woman or whatever the sequel's called worth checking?

Never forget

>After the laughter, he went for Lois & Clark, Brian Bendis chose an unannounced book from one of his favourite writers, but we was really enjoying Dark Knight III and while Cullen Bunn picked Omega Men and Green Lantern, Tom Brevoort was tempted to mention Cullen Bunn’s curtailed run on Aquaman.

>“Uhhh… wow. Thanks” cringed Bunn to the raucous laughter of his bosses…

I'll keep an eye on that Future State stuff thing. I just learned about it like two days ago, so it sparked my interest in DC again.

I'm reading TGL right now - some of the best shit I've read about capes in the last few years. I wasn't convinced about Jimmy Olsen's at first, but I'll see how it goes now that you mention it.

Thanks.

Not particularly, no. It’s very mediocre by comparison.

>I'll keep an eye on that Future State stuff thing. I just learned about it like two days ago, so it sparked my interest in DC again.
Oh, I see. You're a bandwagoning shit. Yeah, kill yourself and stop shitting up the board.

Hey Zig Forums, what's the Empty Hand up to? Did he just go away? Did they forget about him?

I used it as a frame of reference for when I jumped off the DC ship. Some shit in it was not good, but it had some interesting ideas that maybe DC should have salvaged going forward instead of, you know, going all the way back and even mix fucking Watchmen in the whole mess.

I just want to discuss comics. It's hard enough as it is to find good threads on Zig Forums with all the cartoon and mcu kids everywhere, so why be an asshole to someone who just wants to talk about comics?

Because hes a cartoonfag larping

>I believe Death Metal is set to “fix” DC’s continuity in some way.
By bulldozing away everything that isn't Batman.

It's a clusterfuck.

>Has DC announced any sort of reboot that will get away with it?

They are literally going to do away with continuity altogether.

>I just want to discuss comics.
No you fucking don't. If you did, you would just make a thread with a topic that interests you. Instead, you barge in here and start demanding people handout out titles like the entitled piece of shit you are. Fuck off and die.

>Did they forget about him?

Ding ding ding.

Scott Snyder has destroyed everything.
Morrison is quitting DC after Green Lantern.

I'm not bandwagoning you stupid cunt. I'm merely stating that this shit seems like something interesting DC might be doing, but if it turns out being a half-assed attempt at fixing their continuity like most of the New 52 or Rebirth were, then I won't keep reading it.

I almost forgot about that short-lived run. That was such a weird storyline.

I believe Rebirth should've been that from the start. Fuck continuity, just write fun and/or interesting stories.

currently everything is in continuity except the stuff that's blatantly isn't like Batman Damned, That's why Three Jokers and Joker War are both continuity even tho they're technically the same story, When 5G was a thing DC was supposed to have this giant timeline of events to establish what's in continuity.

Future State is just filler. It's what comes just before, and after, that is the "relaunch" which supposedly makes pre-new 52 canon again. Or whatever.

>Fuck continuity, just write fun and/or interesting stories.

Without continuity nothing matters and stories can't be interesting.

Thought that pre-new 52 canon was already the main canon, after the erasing of the first Crisis or whatever happened in one the many events of the Rebirth era.

>I believe Rebirth should've been that from the start
No, that was what DC You was. Rebirth was supposed to be the opposite, going back to continuity and the essence of what made these characters great. It was pretty good for a while until they just forgot about everything again and Bendis came.
