Mighty Nein

Any fa/tg/uys or ca/tg/irls excited for this book?

>don't follow CR
>thought they were called the Mighty Nein because there were 9 of them
>there aren't
So where did the name come from?

I've never listened to the podcast, but I'm always up for fantasy adventure comics.

I just hope it's good.

Well, Nein is German for No, so I'm assuming they did something really dumb.

>The name "The Mighty Nein" was chosen due to a combination of the party's unlucky streak of rolling 9's for attack rolls, damage rolls, and ability checks, Caleb's German accent, and the party's joy in Liam saying the German word nein.

Never watched CR, liked the memes & animatics and would probably like it but my passive D&D media queue is already full. I generally like Mercer, he seems like a fun DM.

I know its contentious on /tg/, but I enjoyed giving the Tal’dorei & Wildmount books a read.

This sounds like the most prolefeed shit imaginable. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

How is this more controversial or relevant than any other d&d comic.

It's not. Critical Role is D&D for people that like Big Bang Theory.

are there any other dnd comics coming out? I know there are those Adventure Zone GNs

I would, but I have an hour+ commute despite the pandemic and a bunch of shit that isn’t Critical Role to listen to.

>Laura Bailey
... The voice actor?

Also, why must every work of fiction directly based on tabletops be fantasy? I'd like some sci-fi stuff for once. Not Warhammer though. Warhammer is fucking retarded trash.

Yes because Jester best girl. I don’t even follow it anymore but I do like Jester.

Does this mean I can request Nott in drawthreads?

Got cucked by her own DM too

I feel like sci-fi requires a certain amount of knowledge in science or improved technobabble.

I am, but not for this

Or a few google sessions.

absolutely, user

She is the best person in the group for me. i didn't even know this was happening

It's only controversial on Zig Forums, where liking fun things is "cringe" and "reddit".

Then I shall.

Not going to pretend it's exactly what dnd should be, but it's so much better in terms of players than anything I've had in a decade it's depressing as fuck

>I feel like sci-fi requires a certain amount of knowledge in science or improved technobabble.
It's like you've never seen any sci-fi. Technobabble is always pure meaningless gibberish. Nobody in the history of ever has put any thought into making it consistant or smart. Use the briar shunt to reroute the influx coupling's plasma flow to bypass the flux capacitors, why don't you.

Chun-Li voice actor, married to travis willingham, now i remember, laura bailey

I’d lose my mind playing sci-fi game with people who aren’t advanced on science at all. Kind of like I’n losing my mind with most sci-fi books.

Well if you count the character that died, and the familiar Frumpkin that Caleb has, there are technically 9 of them.
When Matt has legit written books for official D&D shit I don't think you get to call it the Big Bang of D&D. Also I'd take them over the super serious no fun allowed streams, or irl ones I've been in.

yes, the entire cast of CR is voice actors. Which is why they're more entertaining than a lot, they know how to emote with their voices and actually sound like different people.

She's made for Zemnian dick anyway.

I'm looking forward to the Caleb one the most, but excited for all of them honestly. Even Fjord and he's my least favorite character story wise

>critical role
how long will they keep milking that fantasy cow?

I tried to open a CR thread in /tg/ and I got banned suddenly. Why /tg/ seems to hate them?

its the same problem that Zig Forums has, popular thing bad

It would be easier to list the times the didn't do something dumb. Second season of CR is like whole course on what not to do.

Because as game CR sucks. The first season was kinda ok, but the second is absolute bullshit. Most decent GMs would have either murdered the party long ago, cause they did a lot of stupid shit - enough to kill them three/four times over, or scrapped the game outright.
