It's an incredibly transparent PR move. People were calling this within the first few posts of the original cancellation threads. But fuck it, I'll take it.

Gargantua isnt really even a plot thread. It makes perfect sense that it was Vendata. We never see him actually press the button, but there's no reason not to assume it's him besides meta knowledge that they like to write twists in this show.
