I don't know anything about the creator, but this IP has two main problems: The writing, and the setting. Why does this show take place in hell? It could easily take place in some dystopian fantasy world that is on the verge of a technological revolution (insert Korra was shit, but if executed properly it can be a very interesting world) and nothing would be different. As for the writing, I've only seen the pilot and the writing is hit or miss, it's like sometimes the writing is written with actual thought put into it and other times it's just filler or plot convenience.
