I appreciate what they're going for but honestly the Regular Show-style "Normal situation BUT THEN CRAZY" just doesn't work in a mostly-normal environment. I mean, Regular Show was already fairly outlandish with the main characters being an anthropomorphic bluejay and raccoon, who are employed by a gumball machine, but Close Enough is just about people being people, and the insane elements stick out like a sore thumb, and a lot of episodes feel like they're rushing through important character building to get to the WOAH SO CRAZY moment of the episode.

Quite honestly, the toned down feel from the mid seasons of Regular Show would actually be pretty nice in Close Enough.
