Cartoons should be staffed by people who want to entertain, hardbitten real men who can draw. Not today's fresh out of high school or college storyboarders, who don't really know how to do anything but aim for the level of Steven Universe or Adventure Time, which was always a low bar. Children's cartoons should be for children.
"consistency" is not a high value trait in cartoon art. Its purpose is to entertain. Looney Tunes was never consistent from cartoon to cartoon.

#BetterCartoon showed how weird it is to be like 24 years old and want to make your own show. John K was 35 years old when he made Ren & Stimpy. Someone at that age should aspire to make standout work in a production, not run the show.
If no one's interested in plussing scenes or posters and such, the whole thing is going to be run by people who want someone else to pick up the slack so they can move on to being a showrunner. Good animation catches attention, as James Baxter showed. It's a star position, if people want it to be.
