Frozen II

So the horse and salamander were included just to sell toys, right? Was the addition of the spirit mythos appropriate for Frozen?

I dunno, it feels weird to me to have an entire pantheon of spirits and ancient magic bolted onto a story that used to be just "one girl has powers".
That said, Bruni is cute.

>elaborate story about magic and spirits everyone seems to know about
>hurr durr everyone will be afraid of your powers Elsa

I watched the making-of thing on D+ while half drunk and the one thing I remember is that the lizard was barely in the movie until they did a screening for kids and discovered he was popular... they really needed a private survey to know that cute animal sidekicks are popular?

let's see which elsa gets slapped in the face today

literally everything about the movie was just to sell toys user. it's a sequel.

the spirits belonged to the savages in the murder woods user, keep up

Man, remember when cartoons were actually about selling toys and not progressive agitprop?

Of course, it's also why Porgs were included in the Star Wars sequels, and why "baby Yoda" is in The Mandalorian. Everything is obligated to have a cutesy animal character that can be merchandised.

Don't forget the Earth Giants. Kids love these guys, right?
Too bad they made the 4th spirit literally invisible, kind of hard to sell toys of that.

I think Porg popularity dropped off fast, but they hit gold with Baby Yoda

True. I'm not sure why Anna is still in the movies.

Anna is the cutesy sidekick.

Loli for me plz

Its pretty stupid desu.

Its supposed to be a nordic movie about nordic themes and fairytales.

Its not like Hans Christian Andersons Ice Queen is the only thing he ever wrote. Why couldent they just expand thar universe?

Or maybe even gone for nordic mythology, and thrown in a tiny dash of norse?

But noooo. Have to be animist magic bullshit.

This is how Elsa sees her sister: a helpless baby who must be protected.

>Or maybe even gone for nordic mythology, and thrown in a tiny dash of norse?
It is a Disney movie, maybe they didn't want to step on Thor's territory too much. Otherwise you'd have people shipping Elsa with Loki.

they could have frost giants, but make them sexy

Going full Nord would be great. I want to see Yggdrasil, I want to see Jormungandr. And then I want to see Arendelle destroyed in Ragnarok.

The water horse is explicitly nordic at least. Probably could have drawn from more saami mythology too, but the idpols might have ree’d over appropriation.

>Air Spirit is a formless Gust of Wind
>Fire Spirit is a Salamander
>Earth Spirit are multiple Earth Giants
The only spirit that makes sense is the Water Nøkk and he's a dick.

>ATLA
>spiritual bridge between worlds seals self in giant block of ice in the middle of the ocean in attempt to escape destiny

>Frozen 2
>spiritual bridge between worlds(?) sealing self away in giant block of ice in the middle of the ocean IS her destiny

I'm not even mad they tried to make Elsa a knockoff Avatar, just don't know why they did it in the most ass-backwards way possible

I think they missed an opportunity making cute baby earth giants. Though I guess that's too similar to the trolls

Elsa is perfect

They didn't even need Ahtohallan, nordic myth already had a magical frozen river.

It could still be that, the Northuldra just called it something different.
