SSSS: Gridman will begin airing on Toonami sometime in January.
Gemusetto: Death Beats will be getting a 4 episode burn off on Dec 19th due to poor ratings. Naruto takes the night off to accommodate.
Last week we had a Primal marathon, and for some reason it’s ratings still have not been released. So I guess we have to look at this week with no comparison then. Unfortunately this was not a good week for Toonami, with all shows showing a sizable decrease in performance from 2 weeks ago. Fire Force also took a loss to AssClass. And of course, tennis meme slop nosedived the moment it came on, and then got beat by Naruto and Demon Slayer.
12:00a Dragon Ball Super (r) 436 0.21
12:30a Sword Art Online: Alicization - War on Underworld 301 0.14
this is why i said it should've been on the Sunday lineup instead, i'd honestly be inclined to watch it then
Jace Howard
Why is the tennis show even on toonami?
Dylan Evans
It actually is on Sunday. So we don’t even have some exclusivities of it
Stall for time. Which is a strange choice considering they seemed to have Gridman locked in a month ago
Bentley Nelson
Why is the audience turning on Fire Force? The cardinal sin of a Toonami show is being boring, but Fire Force has ample action even if you aren’t following the plot
Jack Ortiz
>Why is the audience turning on Fire Force? They either can't tell that it's new episodes or in a vacuum the show isn't all that engaging despite being an all-out sakuga fest
Nathaniel Hughes
It's comfy like black clover
Kayden Watson
>can’t tell it’s new episodes A valid concern, and further evidence rerunning shit to “prepare” for new episodes is fucking stupid. >isn’t all that engaging Historically, so long as a show had action it pulled an audience. Despite being one of the more action heavy shows on the schedule, people are still dipping out on it.
Ryder Parker
>135k plummet from Super to SAO >0.07 loss of demo too This is going to get so much worse in a few months when AS loses Family Guy
Ryan Rodriguez
it had/has literally no advertising for it.
all week there are occasional Toonami ads for the next ep of SAO or Ass Class, but nothing for Fire Force.
James Rodriguez
...
Gabriel Jenkins
Woah, Toonami still exists? Don't think I've heard anything about it anywhere in the last 10 years
Jose Torres
They actually did start running FF ads but they seem to appear much less than AssClass and SAO. For some reason no show got a promo this week though
John Wilson
You must have been living under a rock then because despite being a dated format for watching anime, it’s still been very popular and been the home to a handful of world premier pieces of content
Andrew King
I always look forward to that point in the night when Shippuden is on to quietly reflect on what I'm doing with my empty life.
I'll stick with the comfy weekly Toonami runs and threads when I can at least until they finally air that Uzumaki adaptation they've been taunting for the last year and a half. After that, not sure honestly. The quality in content fell pretty hard after the initial run of Dragon Ball Super and Samurai Jack s5, so not sure I'm interested in sticking with it after Uzu unless they branch out and get some crazy property like B't X or anything non-Funimation owned.
Man I wish Toonani bought more season of Ballmasterz
Nathan Smith
thats how the japs do it are you too good for the jap lifestyle
Anthony Garcia
>Shippuden has been running the past 5 years >still on the same run >still hasn't finished >200+ episodes left
At this rate, considering there are approx. 52 Saturdays in a year, with 1 episode airing every week, factoring down to 45 Saturdays to account for marathons/movie/special weeks, with 500 total episodes, that means *if my math is right) Shippuden will complete it's entire run on Toonami in approx..... 6 years. Of course, that's assuming the block will last long enough to finish it (it won't).
because the creator of it had a tantrum and demanded it get special treatment after the 1st season (originally supposed to be 1 and done) did surprisingly well and was actually a pretty good show, considering it was all dumped in 1 night as the April Fool's prank last year
now they had no ideas for the second season and it's playing out like a clone of Perfect Hair Forever but with a higher budget, someone worse animation, and virtually no appeal towards the anime fandom that makes up Toonami (hence why and it likely would've done better taking the ATHF and R&M market on Sunday nights)

>Despite being one of the more action heavy shows on the schedule, people are still dipping out on it. It's either the lack of advertising or viewers just prefer to watch it on Funimation. I really hope last Saturday was just an off-night since it's depressing to go into the new year with a line-up more stacked than this but threads so dead.
Hudson Barnes
>a line-up more stacked than this
are you the dumb? the lineup is garbage right now aside from Ass Class and Fire Force
Owen Jenkins
>5 years ago was 2015 >they aired Kill La Kill a year after it ended, probably immediately when the dub was produced >in 2020 they're airing the dub of Assassination Classroom which came out in 2015 and has had a dub for multiple years i mean i guess they're playing Demon Slayer but I imagine this has something to do with the ratings, everyone who wanted to watch Ass Class already did
