I like this movie but the fact it was made in the 2000s shows.
>Pop culture reference every 5 minutes
>Wacky sidekick character who has no other characteristic other then beinh a wacky sidekick character
>Robin Williams is still alive (RIP 1951-2014)
>Cheesy "Just Be Yourself" messege
>group of characters whose names are instantly forgettable.
>Dance party Ending because of courses there has to be a dance party ending
That and it's kinda forgettable. Heck even some of the ice age sequels have more memorable moments that Robots

I only remember the domino scene.
I used to watch this movie a lot as a kid. One time I was messing with the DVD settings on my remote control, and accidentally activated the function where you can set two timestamps and have that scene loop over until you get it to stop. Being a dumbass kid I had no idea how to stop this once it started, so the result was that I got to see the Aunt Fanny brap scene on loop like sixty times before I decided to turn the TV off.
Of course I forgot to turn the DVD player off, so when I turned it back on, she got off three more braps.
But it had a certain aesthetic, right?
I thought the creativity of the universe alone was awesome. Something about the 70's retrofuturistic design just gets my gears goin. Pun intended.
I like it, reminds me of Ratchet and Clank back when it had soul.
*snap* That's going into my YLYL compilation.
It was definitely Blue Sky trying to jump on the Dreamworks formula bandwagon
Shrek and Shark Tale were the films that popularized all of those elements in animation. They already existed before ( Hercules, Toy Story 2 ) but Dreamworks made them truly popular with their early 00s films. As a result, many studios started to copy that formula after 2004. This was one of the first imitators
Imagine the smell
This movie and Shark Tale are very comparable. They both came out almost at the same time, have a large cast of characters, and have a big emphasis on pop culture humor, celebrities, licensed songs, one liners and puns. They also take place in a very busy metropolis full of activity and visual gags, and even end on a dance party ending. It's kinda spooky how similar they are
We know it's you, Shark Talefag
You mean sixty-nine times, right?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of RNC when watching this movie.
I'm not OP. I'm very indifferent towards Robots. It looks beautiful, but the story kinda sucks. Second half is also noticeably worse in quality ( around the point when Rodney and Fender go to that ball, everything takes a nosedive )
Great world and character designs, shit writing.
Astro boy 09 reminds me a lot of Robots with its environments, color palette and character designs. Only difference is that it actually had a decent story and didn't try to be a Dreamworks film

I agree, the whole tone of the movies changes in the blink of an eye. It's almost as if two different crews were commissioned to make one movie.
That's how user got his fetish.
Yeah, it's like they didn't know where to take the story after a certain point
Despicable me is evidence of this trend as well, and it kept making money so they doubled down on it.
Entertaining, but still a 5/10 film
imagine the smell
Requested this a long time ago.
The toy kits that came out of it were kino tho
HIT ME BABY, ONE MORE TIME!
wait, was this you!?
remember when like 6 months ago zoomer commies were saying this film was like the second coming of Marx?
god, imagine how fucking retarded your childhood is that the movie you most empathise and find relatable is fucking Robots.
I haven't watched it in years. I just remember watching it at my cousin's house in their dark basement and I couldn't sleep. Eventually the movie started skipping and glitchy and making noises and I was the only one awake to witness it.
No, different user.
