Hatred has hardened and cracked away into spite. Homestuck is awful.
On another note, rewatching Game Over made me realize just how little most of the outsourced artists gave a shit about abiding by Homestuck's artstyle. Sure, even Cascade had some shots that challenged the art style (Bec Noir killing the exiles especially) but nothing was as egregious as the shit used in Game Over (or Collide after it for that matter).
I think it just speaks to the overall decline of the comic, and its inability to follow a single, meaningful vision.

For new readers, there is ONE thing keeping you reading the story: the hope that you'll see the original four kids finally united, kicking ass and being goofy friends. Every single one of those "let's read Homestuck" blogs says something like "oh boy I cant wait to see John and Dave and Rose all hang out together!"
Over the course of over 8000 pages, this does not happen. There's plenty of time for Jasperroseprite^2 and leprechaun romance, but the fucking hook of the story is never delivered on. I will die mad.

It was good in the beginning but got too bloated as time went on. It will be remembered as that internet thing that combined almost every element of the 2000's internet into it self.
The main problems were :
>Too many characters to actually be infested in
>Characters people care about not getting enough screen time
>Mountains of text on almost every page
>The creator using the comic to troll people instead telling a compelling story
>And bad epilogues that don't explain a lot of the holes in the story
But the good things to come from it were:
>Memorable main characters
>Fun visuals that sets it a part from any other comic or webcomic
>Combining different mediums to tell the story
>Good world building
>Fantastic sound track
>And a ton of porn
Homestuck is something I kept pushing through as it came out. I like the story of the first five acts a lot better than act 6 and it's many sub acts. It never gives a payoff that feels earned or gratifying. That or we get no payoff for some characters.
But the worst thing to come from Homestuck is Homestuck^2 beyond canon. That dumpster fire will probably give us memes but nothing else of value like it's predecessor.
I enjoyed Homestuck but it defiantly got old as time went on. But I can see myself rereading it to catch anything I missed.

It's fine. It really drags on towards the end and I think it goes without saying that they should have just ended it there.
I mean, I enjoy HIVESWAP and FRIENDSIM because I think Alternia is an interesting setting that you can do cool stuff with but I'm really not interested in this tacked-on story featuring the original cast of characters.

the second half of the story, originally intended to be a few hundred pages at most, is just an entirely different beast from the first half. the cast of characters in the first half is swept aside to focus on 18 ALL NEW dipshits and their interpersonal drama. it abandons any of the whimsicality and fun the first half had in an attempt to make DEEP META COMMENTARY
