The problem probably wasn't people not enjoying the show when they watch it. The problem was problem nobody watching it because it looks like incredibly generic. Probably would have done better in the age of shows just popping onto the TV, but I don't see too many people clicking on this when presented with hundreds of options.
I was surprised Lord and Miller were involved. This was not their style of comedy at all.

I dont know a single person who liked brickelberry, last i heard anything about it, Ugly Americans got cancelled and Berry got renewed for its...season 2 i think? Because Tosh threaten to walk out of Tosh.0 so if it kept getting renewed, it makes since the trash fire that is Paradise PD is still going. Hollywood never understand that throwing money at something is not the same as quality.

I know you probably aren't worth replying to, but even outside of the art style the way the main character would go on these long rambling tangents (the one with the hooker about her prices comes to mind) reminded me a lot of the comedy style in Rick and Morty. Just missing a couple "er"s and burps.
I doubt they had much involvement with the show's production, but what do I know? Did either of them ever even MENTION Hoops when it first premiered?

Im aware, what i meant with the berry and PD connection was that they probably figured the format worked well enough to make another show.
As far netflix promo of it, i saw it being heavily promoted at the start up screen, so the average normie probably saw “dog do coke haha” and promptly watched it.
Seems more like a poor man's Final Space, with even less variety in character body types/silhouettes. Same art director as FS's and one of its lead character designers also worked on the show.

I used to really like it when I was on college and then kinda grew out of it and moved onto other things. It was funnier when I was 19 but I dont hate it now.

At least, Paradise PD is watchable and the characters, as shitty as they seem, are simple and not annoying as fuck.
In Hoops, every single character is obnoxious as fuck, not funny, talks a lot, the pilot talks so much about dicks I almost thought I was watching a pickles commercial, and the humor wasn't anywhere to be seen.
Paradise PD aim for a simple, sometimes lazy humor but it works way better than Hoops.
And funny or not, I can watch PPD without yamn, which is untrue for Hoops. I couldn't even pass the third ep. Too boring, too unfunny, too much trying.
