What does Zig Forums think of cartoonist kayfabe?
Cartoonist Kayfabe
I like them. They're very insightful and knowledgeable, get straight to the point, and are genuinely passionate about what they do. Being real industry pros helps a ton.
I'm still looking for the digital version of the article they wrote on Azumanga Daioh.
>What does Zig Forums think of ______?
These "artist attempts to gin up interest in their own work" threads are pathetic.
check'd
They're okay.
I find Jim more knowledgeable and easier to follow, Ed is kinda annoying and a try hard when he uses the fucking fuck word a fucking lot, I like his art, though.
I've always wanted to ask this: Who's the Marty and Who's the Shawn?
I used to think Rugg was the Marty but lately I think Rugg could be the Shawn
One of only 2 good comic book Youtube channels.
Its a good watch but neither of them are good artists. Ed is particularly weird and looks like some sort of albino creep, and the wannabe black shit is cringe.
Don't forget he thinks he is from da streets when in reality he was always a geeky dork.
I tried reading both their comics and they talk a lot of shit for two guys who make ugly looking comics
What’s the other?
Okay who else has sold out books on the market right now? raise your hands nice and high now
Too much 90s fanboys
Hi Ed
He’s never once said he’s from the streets you’re just imagining that because his public persona fits the shoes in your head...
Not nearly as good as Strip Panel Naked
More specifically Capeshit and Liefeld fanboys.
Some of the few comic youtubers who aren't complete garbage
This is the best criticism but who can blame them for having nostalgia?
Strip Panel Naked?
Earl Grey?
Strange Brain Parts?
What's the other?
I agree with these guys, I learn a lot from their channel, but Ed is annoying and pretends to be anti-egghead when he worked for fucking BoingBoing, Jim is kind of boring, and neither of them are that great artists, and for how much shit they talk on mainstream comics, they fetishize early 90s Image guys waaaay too much.
Having said all that, I still watch at least a couple of their videos a week, I especially like it when they crack into classic strip anthologies, really shows me a side of comics I didn't know existed.
You wish Ed Piskor wasted his fucking time on this site but in reality he’s making bank while you and I sit here and chat about nothing in particular
Excellent channel with a ton of content. They've been killing it lately.
What’s your favorite video of theirs? I’m also a fan of the strips rather than comics
They’re almost over saturating their own channel right now but whatever I’m enjoying it
Hey everybody just giving you your marching orders: read Moore comics
There's been a few, but anytime they break out those massive hardcovers that highlight the early 20th century stuff that Chris Ware is clearly influenced by, I want to go on eBay and buy all that shit. Not usually my cup of tea but their enthusiasm for that stuff is catching.
Go watch the Stray Bullets episode.
They are, in that it's actually too much, I probably won't get to a lot of shit I want to see. But I can always count on entertaining videos to throw in for twenty minutes when I'm eating or something. The Image X week was great, especially in tandem with Liefeld's own podcast episode on the topic the same week. While I do dig the guys and their insight and banter, one of the best parts is getting a look at interiors I wouldn't normally see.
>they fetishize early 90s Image guys waaaay too much.
They love Liefeld
People need to get over Ed's persona, he is half joking all the time, has a pro wrestling type mentality of just trying to rib.
C'mon Ed, admit it's you.
Kek
A "kayfabe," one might even say still annoying tho
