Is Courage the only kids show to actually be classified as horror? There are many kids cartoons that have dark comedy to it like Billy & Mandy, Gravity Falls, Flapjack or Invader ZIM. There are shows that have horror elements to them like some stuff in Adventure Time or Steven Universe. But Courage is the only cartoon that actually feels like it's trying to rival Goosebumps instead of just having haunted house-esque spookiness to it.

Goosebumps, Are you afraid of the Dark, & Truth or Scare are horror themed too.
Real Adventures of Johnny Quest and Mighty Max were horror cartoons disguised as action ones.
I'd argue the 90s Spiderman counts too.
Don't forget tales from the crypt.
There have been kids horror anthology cartoons, notably Tales from the Cryptkeeper
I dug this up for my boys a couple halloweens ago. It turned out to be too scary for the time being but I enjoyed it
Extreme Ghostbusters was terrifying at times. Not to an adult obviously, but to a kid left all alone in the house. So I'd say it's on par with Courage and more horror than everything else you named.
having ghost and dead things doesnt make it a horror imo courage literally gave me nightmares beetle juice was a comedy
Wait, is this the one that had a girl with a beehive hairdo filled with spiders; a daughter and father that found out how hot dogs are made; a driver that was threatened at gunpoint by a woman and he speeded to the docks so she would jump out of the car; a girl that eats some bad chilli that ruins her date?
Tales from the Crypt was more towards adults
Beetlejuice I agree with even if I liked it but don't tell me the first 40 seconds of this isn't essentially horror for kids.

The show was pretty much pushing it in how scary it could be without becoming an outright adult horror show.
Yes it's quite obscure, it passed me by at the time even though I was an avid cartoon watcher. Most of its episodes are currently lost so if you saw it back in the day consider yourself lucky. It's the type of stuff you might have thought you dreamed up.
im only going off my little kid memories so i might not remember much but id say that MIGHT scare me as a kid
Here's another, this one's based on a series of books. There was really some cool stuff for kids coming out of the 90s but it petered out fast.
>crazy tech genius
>struggles wheeling through grass
still don't understand why that wheelchair dude didn't just build himself some robo-legs
Gerald stories episodes of Hey Arnold! were pretty scary, and plenty of random clips were just outright terrifying out of the blue, like this:
>a girl that eats some bad chilli that ruins her date?
You happen to remember which episode this was?
It’s like a Twilight Zone for kids.
i too would like to know of this chili brap episode
Fil Barlow's original character design did have a more high-tech chair as a matter of fact. The character was also at one point going to be a woman using robot crutch things instead of a chair, too.
found it
because they arent bioengineers, they just have nuclear powered laser beams.
>literally gave me nightmares

>Courage gave me nightmares
lmao you pussy, Courage kickstarted my fascination with the horror genre
I saw a few eps on Cartoon Network, I saw the lat dub so I never how it was called in the original up until recently It's on watch cartoons online but I don't know if it's complete.
I only had that "dreamed up" sensation a few times one was when re-reading Dragon Ball, and I swore that OX Satan had a different name on the first read.
>Imagine the smell

Please, stop this meme.
It's about as much of a horror show as Ruby Gloom is.
I'm saying this as a fan of the show and the Lydia waifufag.
