ITT: Should have been finales

Post the episode or issue you thought a Zig Forums series should have ended at. The series can be done or ongoing, just post where you thought would have been good closure and the perfect finale instead of what was given.

Homer's Enemy for The Simpsons. Alternatively, Behind the Laughter.

Why Homer's Enemy? That's an odd choice

Bump, I'm still wondering what people think

Superan before Bendis took over

Stan's birthday episode

The end of the two parter or just You're Getting Old?

I usually vouch for Behind the Laughter OR Holidays of Future's Past as the definitive finale.

The show should have ended long before holidays of future passed

True, but Holidays of future passed was actually written to be a finale, so it would be the most appropriate imho

i feel it works since the first aired episode was a christmas episode, it's final one being a christmas episode works.

hell you could've cancelled the show with Behind the Laughter as its finale....and then make Holidays of Future's Past like a tv movie special made a decade later.

would've been kino.

The Simpsons s11e05

BoJack Horseman, Season 2 finale.

KOTH: Lucky's Wedding Suit
Futurama: The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings OR The Late Philip J. Fry
The Simpsons: You Only Move Twice (alter the ending where they stay in Cypress Creek)
Family Guy: Back to the Pilot
American Dad: 200
South Park: You're Getting Old

Adventure Time - Mortal Recoil. Just tweak it slightly so the snail doesn't have the Lich's eyes. Finn and Bubblegum same age and happy, Lich dead, good wrap up.

Invincible: I forgot which issue but after they convince the other Viltrumites to just hide out on earth

I agree. I recall when that episode aired that it felt like a proper conclusion. I would like to keep the snail though. I feel like leaving an open cliffhanger like that just feels right.

For TMNT2k3, right before the Ninja Tribunal/Demon Shredder arc.

When I was 15 I thought that Utrom Shredder was bullshit and Shredder should have been a demon instead. Then I saw that in action and turns out Utrom Shredder is the best Shredder and Ninja Tribunal is where the 2k3 series jumps the shark. Considering how bad the animation got it was clear it was zombie turtles.

Fast Forward was almost an improvement compared to this.

End Xaolin Showdown before the bean appeared. Just use Chase Young as final villain.

Personally would have gone with Coon vs. Coon and Friends

A weird one but ninjago should’ve ended when they originally defeated the black guy

I stand by the fact that I think the View From Halfway Down should've been Bojack's finale. You can still have the final episode to show everyone else, but Bojack's trajectory should have let him die in his former pool with only the vague idea of his friend's voice comforting him in his final moments. That or season 1's finale, where Bojack at least has an optimistic future.

Simpsons Season 9 Episode 10. Having the town steal everything from them and leave them with nothing would've been a great place to end the series.

the Stewie Kills Lois/Lois Kills Stewie two parter for Family Guy but without the "it was all just a simulation" cop out ending.

The biggest plot thread throughout the show, up to that point, would've been tied up in a neat and exciting way, it used the massive changes in the status quo to take many of the characters in interesting directions, it included some level of actual character development, and it had some memorable comedic and (at least in the DVD version) musical moments.

Ending the show there would've also allowed the show to end at around 100 episodes while planting seeds for a sequel series that took the show in meaningful directions. Finally, ending the show there would've avoided the show much of the seasonal rot it did go through in our timeline.

Ninjago is the perfect example of milking a series dry. It should have ended after the first two seasons and was literally set up that way. It literally disappeared for an entire year then got brought back for a third season. I recall as a kid that I enjoyed it, but actively tried to avoid it after season 3. I was surprised to see it still making episodes long after that because CN never airs it. Literally haven't seen it on a CN schedule since maybe it's 5th season.

It mocks the very premise of the series, taking matters to their logical extreme and ends with Homer asking the channel to be changed. Plus it's a dynamite episode.

DuckTales (2017) should have ended at S1.

I know S2 has some good points too, but the overall plot was a mess. S1 was the only season that was solid.
