We're in the middle of a pop culture shift where thanks to the MCU, Marvel's heroes are becoming the "default" heroes in societal eyes, and DC's attempt to keep Superman and Batman as that - as they have been for literal generations - got shattered in 2016 thanks to THIS guy. More importantly, he's such an arrogant prick with deluded cultist fans he got the keys BACK to controlling public perception of DC and it looks to be the same bullshit that drove audiences away the first time. Thus ensuring Marvel's dominance.

DC's merely (badly, granted) bruised for now, but DAMN they're going to truly hurt in another decade or so when zoomers and younger grow up with Marvel as the standard for superheroes and not Supes or Bats. There's gotta be at least one competent WB and/or DC exec who recognizes that and is shitting his pants in fear over the long-term damage Zack Snyder did to their IP.
