ITT: Fixing South Park

How would you fix modern South Park? Things like what characters would you give more focus, what characters would you give less focus, more serialization or more episodic, the early surrealist humor or the modern satirical humor, how would you change the status quo, etc.

End it.

I thought top comment was going to be killing Randy

I know what the first one means, what do the other two mean

Zoomer suggestions would go as followed
>Make it "sincere", stop being cynical
>Make the artstyle more goofy and lighthearted
>Stop "punching down" (unless it's evil conservatives!)
>Likewise no dark humor or anything edgy, that's so early 2000s
>Stop presenting any views that are even remotely different from Twitter
>Make every episode a budget Jurassic Bark
>Every problem is solved by hugging it out and getting your way
Zoomers don't understand what made South Park good, they just want yet another basic bitch shitty show that validates their twitter beliefs.

That literally goes against everything that made old South Park good even in it's first season, what the fuck? As a zoomer that loves South Park, some of the problems of the show include that it got less edgy and every episode has to have some kind of moral.

Also "Make every episode a budget Jurassic Bark". That episode is overrated as hell.

Haven't seen the newest season but the only problem I have with modern south park is all the fucking Randy. Really tired of that character. I honestly just want more focus on the boys and their shenanigans again. I want them to focus less on topical modern day shit. It can be pretty funny sometimes when they do it and I know they're kind of known for it but fuck man, it really dates the show and makes a lot of episodes unwatchable after enough time has past.

You are unironically obsessed. Seek help.

Both valid points. I especially hate how Kenny's a background character now and Cartman is the only boy still a main character.

Even though half the show follows randy we barely get any stan. It's pretty sad.

Tfw Towelie is now a more major character than Stan

NO FUCKING SERIALIZATION. It doesn't work.

And no more Tegridy Farms, but thats a given.

Youre just making up somebody who doesnt exist for the sole purpose of getting angry

Serialization is fine. They have like 20 seasons of non-serialization dude.

Have an episode where kenny starts a femboy onlyfans and then summons an interdimensional demon who wants to fuck his bussy

Zoomers complain all the fucking time about South Park user, where have you been?

Yeah, and they were good. When they do serialization its the same thing every week. It gets old. At best just have a few long-term subplots like in season 19.

I think itd be best to focus less on current events and political topics and stop trying so hard to "have a message" in every episode. It's annoying and gets in the way of the actual comedy. I think alot of older episodes were better cause there was a much greater variety in topics for episodes while with modern south park, they tend to run the same joke through out an entire episode over and over again because the writers are very autistic about keeping the plot focused.

Serialization is fine, but agree, everything Randy-related the last two seasons was fucking awful

I have literally never seen a zoomer want to transform South Park into Steven Universe like how you described. I've seen more zoomers criticise the fanbase more so than the show which is perfectly reasonable because South Park fans will blindly listen to whatever the show preaches to them like a bunch of autidtic retards

Season 19 could still drag in some parts. They need to go back to 3 parters every few seasons with a 2 parter in-between ocassionally if they want to do bigger stories.

The problem with all the current events shit is that instead of being the background for a plot or being a joke that's funny even if you don't know the reference the current events become the entire joke. Old South Park was still guilty of this but to a much lesser extent. Feels like when they go in to create an episode they all just open up news sites and try to find something they could turn into a joke.

Yup

I think "Second Post Second Best Post" and "Third Post Awful Post".

Discounting "End It". I'd go more surreal, more songs, more edgy celebrity (Non-politician) dissing and unexpected roles with absurdist twists, Don't ignore dumb shit that happened in entertainment or in some town just to focus on a hot topic political or economic issue, it's okay to have episodes that aren't about that shit too, it is okay to just have the characters be in a dumb sensational situation that mocks a celebrity but is a original plot. And less Randy, he is fine in small doses, but the problem is literally that they only focus on him at the expense of everyone else and doubled down on it when called out.

Basically more Mecha-Streisand.

>I have literally never seen a zoomer want to transform South Park into Steven Universe like how you described
You're moving the goalposts. Most zoomers don't want to change south park, they want it canceled. But the OP and post are talking about hypothetical "what would be changed", and saying "just cancel it" is fucking boring.

>I've seen more zoomers criticise the fanbase more so than the show which is perfectly reasonable
They criticize the fanbase for holding the same views as the show, you think that doesn't extend to the show itself. And agan, holy shit zoomers absolutely complain about South Park being politically incorrect. Just because you bury your head in the sand doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Turn it into a harem anime to appeal to the weirdos who like it.

While this thread's still going, what character do you want to see make a comeback or get more screentime and focus?

I would say Pip but that is never going to happen since Matt and Trey have done everything to ensure it never does, so Mephesto. He created several of the conflicts in earlier episodes by accident and was one of the few adults the kids would go to. The general idea of the character had loads of potential that was never done. I miss when the show had monsters and shit. I can't recall the last time the show had some weird entity besides Manbearpig and excluding recurring characters like Towelie and Mr. Hankey. The surrealism really set the show apart from the crowd at the time.

user, if they want to appeal to the weirdos that like it it is a OTOME Anime they need to turn it into.

Damien. His gay homosexual deadbeat dad is fucking dead now.

Tweek x Craig permantly damaged the show's reputation

And the episode and relationship were not even good.
