The main appeal is that its animation for adults. People are constantly going about animation is for kids and that's wrong. Cartoons maybe, for kids. But animation itself? Nope. It's a medium, not a genre, and even though its "edgey" and doesn't fit social norms or niceties it's proof that animation for adults is a thing. The damn thing was being funded by fans all over just because of what it is. As far as I'm concerned, despite its quirks, its a solid attempt at taking back animation for our own. Especially from the mouse.

I think mostly people like the over-the-top but still aesthetically-pleasing designs.

The animation is incredibly high quality and beats almost anything else on offer right now.
The art direction, though I'm certain can be hit or miss for most people, is still interesting to watch, and I'm always able to fond something interesting to look at in every shot (though most shots cram as many interesting things in as possible)
It fills a niche that is entirely unfilled. An adult animation that doesn't pretend to be for kids (ala Star Vs. or Steven Universe), but isn't a simple by the numbers adult animated sitcom like Rick and Morty, Family Guy, or Bob's Burgers.
It's creator driven which is admirable in its own right.

I don't think it's some masterpiece but an indie hot topic lady is making the best animation in the west right now. Imagine what we could be enjoying right now if studios actually gave a damn.

They're both super good to me though.

the voice acting and animation are great, that's what makes this good. The sheer effort and involvement. The actual content is deviantArt levels of engagement with otherwise heavy topics, and I will eat my real human feet if it even attempts to posit a thesis deeper than 'people have to want to change!!1' by the end

1. The animation is pretty good quality for an indie group, and I like the music.

2. It's directed towards animation fans who want more adult stories, and the stories are good.

3. Furries without being too cringe -- although some planned characters for future episodes are making me wince, but meh, just takes some getting used to.

4. Dedicated voice actors, animators, who keep things going with funny podcasts. They had the voice actor who played Zim (who also plays Moxie in Helluva Boss) and I was rolling in that podcast.

The cartoon itself wasn't very good.

It's appealing in a way to me because it's just someone just having fun. However, this is also the single most lazer-targeted at 12-year-old "pansexual" edgy quirky fangirls thing I have ever seen. Helluva boss is much better than Hazbin Hotel. Neither are shows I would recommend to anyone but I don't mind giving them 15-20 minutes of my time. The animation is nice and the writing is ok. They overdo the swearing sometimes but thats to be expected.
