英雄や冒険に憧れるのはかまわねえ だがこの世界には手を出しちゃいけねえ奴もいるんだ is this like "I don't care about people who admire heroes or adventure"?
Austin Foster

You learned it right? There is nothing wrong with admiring heroes or adventure, but there is something you should stay away from it in this world yet."
Some questions about three different texts: >「やだなぁ長谷川さんってほんっとシニカルなんだから。 What is なんて大胆なマスコミへのリップサービスを supposed to be saying? Lip service (her explaining that they were isolated in class) to give to the journalists a reason as to why they jumped off a building? and 大胆な is modifying リップサービス, yes? Does this last part mean he would feel pathetic if he was asked about in detail what went wrong? Lastly, he concludes in this last part "... even if I have to take criticism for being late (in coming to a conclusion)" right?
Parker Davis
>Lip service (her explaining that they were isolated in class) to give to the journalists a reason as to why they jumped off a building Yes.. but for me it sounds a weird word choice and kind of annoying overreaction. "I may feel pathetic if I am asked about in detail what went wrong, but I may not even get to make an excuse unless I am asked." > "... even if I have to take criticism for being late." right.
It's an answer to a question about a missing person. How do I parse the second sentence? Give up of your own will?
Evan Perry
Thanks! I was confused on the third part since the definition provided for 言い訳のしょうがない was >恥や失態などから人に対して申し訳ない気持ちが大きいさま but I suppose that's irrelevant here. In this case, he just had no opportunity to give excuses? Even though he wanted to but couldn't because she didn't ask further?
Ryan Cook
しちゃあ is しては the sentence is inverted 勝手に手放しては駄目だよ if you let go/give up on your own without asking it's no good you can't just let go of it on your own like that

What does もん refer to in this case? The second sentence is
"Even if you do it quickly, things that die, die"
Henry Kelly
Even if you do it fast, what's going to die will die, though Like, you can't prevent the dying because it's already decided
