Where do you watch anime?
Me: Yes. Pic related

I get the feeling that anime is kinda dying honestly, there hasn't been anything really iconic for years.
popular among incels who need to be sacrificed to a volcano
Good thing there are no volcanoes here
imagine paying to watch tranyme
Better than pirating everything in low resolution, having a lot of work for little money
>Anime is popular in your country?
Maybe in the past but not that much anymore
>Where do you watch anime?
I torrent it all of course. FUCK streaming sites, and FUCK crunchyroll for blocking my entire country from accessing their website.
Yes
Youtube or gogoanime
>he doesn't watch raws in better quality than crunhyroll
>he uses the shitty crunchyroll player
>he pays 5 dollars to watch anime
Flag
Yes
I torrent.
I used to only download and hated streaming due to the shitty quality, but now the quality is pretty good and I don't really see the point in downloading anymore when pretty much everything is legally streamed in good quality.
Well, you have to pay, but I have a job so don't really care about 7 dollars a month or whatever it is. And I learned Japanese so don't care about subs or pay any attention to them or how shitty they might be.
As for anime in my country, it wasn't popular at all through my school years unless it was among the nerdiest kids. Now however it's popularity seems to be growing a little.
I should add though that I won't hesitate to torrent something I can't access otherwise.
>Caring about $5/month
5$ but not converted to our currency
The cheapest Netflix plan is cheaper than that
Amazon Prime Video costs 1,82$
Isn't Amazon Prime Video included in Amazon Prime anyway?
Yes, that makes it even cheaper
My only defence to Crunchyroll is that they air shit on FTA TV Rede Brasil, Black Clover and Bungou Stray Dogs was airing yesterday.
Personally I torrent not just for the quality, but also for the freedom to pick whatever fansub group I want for my anime. It doesn't matter for you though, since you already understand japanese, you don't require subtitles like I do.
I pirate everything, from movies, games, or novels. Almost nothing is accessible legally, since paypal is blocked and credit card is not available here. 7 dollars is a lot of money too, its almost my internet bill every month.
Speaking of my internet, anime reencode groups are literally a lifesaver for thirdworlders like me. I would never be able to watch seasonal anime if it weren't for them. Very grateful to these people
>low resolution
BD rips with better quality that you could ever stream
>having a lot of work
The shit automatically downloads itself by a torrent feed, don't even need to open a browser. I can literally open my folder and everything is there, downloaded and organized by itself.
>little money
Absolutely no money.
Why do people (especially on Zig Forums) rail against streaming so much? Most of the time the quality is decent, but even if it isn't, why does it bother them so? It reminds me of autistic audiophiles who can't possibly understand that not everyone is retardedly autistic about audio quality to the point of near schizophrenia like they are.
And for the record, I'm talking about free/illegal streaming, not stuff like crunchyroll.
I thought most sub groups died out? I remember lots being around toward the late 2000s, but since streaming has become more prominent I thought there weren't many around anymore, at least any that actually translate on their own and don't just go the HorribleSubs route.
Were a pirate site that made money stealing fansubs. They wanted "donations" for downloads. Then they went legal and proceeded to fuck every other pirate site
Their player is dogshit
They censor a lot of things
Some animes are region blocked
Makes cartoons and call them anime
Hoard cheap licenses
and yet claims to support the industry
Only very recently streaming in HD became somewhat feasible, for the longest time it was complete garbage. Illegal streaming websites have always been a mess, riddled with spam, false links and viruses. They also also used (probably still do) to steal from fansubs and stamp their shit logo on everything. Zig Forums has been (maybe was, it's been a long time since I last checked the board) one of the main places to fansubbing creators interact with the anime community outside their own IRC echoboxes, many fansubbers used the board discuss and promote their projects and I assume they represented a significant amount of the active posters of the board and probably used to take part in those discussion since they have to put a lot of time to make their content look as good as possible so they also want users to experience it in the same way.
Sorry, ate some words am a bit drunk.
youtu.be
Not much.
Have you seen the quality of anime in illegal streaming sites? Everything is heavily compressed, you can see compression artifacts here and there, its just looks terrible. Even their 1080p is nothing but glorified 480p stream. If you are a true anime fan then the video quality should absolutely matter to you. These people on Zig Forums might be elitists, but they are not being unreasonable when they ask you to quit streaming.
I watch a lot of older anime. Also some fansubs like doki and commie are still functional, but yes you are correct, they mostly died out.

See my example about autistic audiophiles (e.g. those you find on /g/).
No, I don't notice the difference in quality. And even if I did, I wouldn't give a shit. I also don't care/notice graphics quality in vidya, for example. And besides, I watch generally watch older anime, so the quality is always going to be shit by today's standards. However, I don't even notice this, nor would I care even if I did notice this.
why are ruskies like this
Is this a statement?
99% of the time I will watch an episode only once. Why am I going to be autistic about the quality? I also sit like 5 meters from the TV, so the difference is not even noticeable
What a fucking shit taste. Why do you even consume anime and video-games if you don't care about their quality? Don't you have anything else that you are actually passionated about to spend your time on?
>Why do you even consume anime and video-games if you don't care about their quality?
Because I'm not an impressionable zoomer who's only capable of enjoying anibe or vidya from >le current year.
My all-time favorite anime is from 2003, and so even in fucking 4k resolution it'll look like shit if you just compare it to the most recent (and often shitty) animaymays like the dumb zoomer you are. Same for vidya; my all-time favorite vidya is BF1942 (from 2002), and every single zoomer-tier recently released Battlefield game is absolute dogshit compared to BF1942 despite having far better graphics.
