Let me interject for a moment. What you guys are referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux. Thank you for taking your time to cooperate with with me, your friendly GNU+Linux neighbor, Richard Stallman.

Based. It was my first distro.
Lubuntu.
Tiny, lightweight, debian core.

my first one was simply ubuntu, but /g/ convinced me to do distrohopping which was a mistake, in the end I liked kde the most and went back to ubuntu again. Kde neon is basically just kubuntu but the kde part is managed by the kde devs.
Mint on my desktop
Debian stable on my laptop
Well, I actually lead a productive life (and have an active sex life) and don't need dumb bells and whistles, so I use Windows 2000.

Windows 10 for Desktop (for gaming and NVENC rendering because Linux just won't cut it even today).
Pop OS 20.04 for Laptop (I use it for work)
There comes a point where after more than a decade of distro/environment hoping, troubleshooting, countless forums, websites, scripts, that you just get tired of looking how to setup specific stuff on linux and all the hardware issues, you just want to install stuff and run it, fortunately app images exist but there's a long way to go, and I just want to do stuff on the pc, not being configurating it all day, not anymore, and I think my time is more precious now.
Tried switch to mint but legitimately everything was running like 15C hotter. My CPU was idling around 55C-60C when on windows it's normally at around 40C. Couldn't figure out why so I abandoned it desu
too bad kde is getting fucked by qt
>listening to /g/
lmao, you had it coming
Linux alone is an operating system that can be used in various applications without any GNU software whatsoever.

Uh hello? Based department?
Windows xp service pack 1
If you're not using a free software OS in 2020, you're not even human to me.
but seriously, lincucks mint(would use openpepe or Manjaro but they both have troubles for me)
Windows 10
how can something be too user friendly?
Or you can get Windows for free, it's quite easy.
based and redpilled I must say
it's free like freedom, not like free beer.
do not use openpepe, I've had multiple issues with it. One update completely broke the system on the stable install and another one somehow managed to trash the key for my encrypted harddrive, I lost everything.
You don't need real computing skills in order to use Windows 10.
Free beer is good, though.
Why use a meme OS anyway?
honestly updates broke shit on all linux distributions I had, and even if you decide not to update troubles start. but thanks for the tip.
>You don't need real computing skills in order to use Windows 10.
nothing wrong with that
an OS is supposed to make things easy for you
