ye bro
love me some mississippian ceramics
they were the only non-science literate people on earth who came up with the idea of strengthening their pottery clay by baking powdered river mussel shells to calcify it and mix it into the clay, when de soto and his merry band of conquistadors were pillaging and kidnapping their way across the south they did take note that the pottery and ceramics they saw were on the same level of quality as those in madrid

Man that's awesome. Where can I read up on Mississippians?

these are actually funerary objects, they would be made to resemble relatives that passed away and kept in a prominent place of honor in the house as a form of ancestor worship, the lines of the face would be tattoos that the man had earned in his lifetime (they had a system of prestige/achievement using facial tattoos)

tfw no stevie nicks gf

conway more like conman

Arkansas, more like arkansaw
Why the fuck is it read like that?

Were they olmecs?

my recommendation as an intro to southern injuns would be Southeastern Indians by Charles Hudson
ill post some of the table of contents (shitload of subcategories only posting the general ones)
>prehistory and early history
>the belief system
>social organization
>subsistence
>ceremony
>art, music and recreation
>a conquered people

as for the mississippians specifically, they were the predecessors of the people de soto interacted with so there's no written history on/by them and de soto spread shitloads of diseases and most of the massive tribes that had lived across the south had their populations decimated
most of what we have on them is archeological and then filling in the blanks on their culture with what we know about the tribes that followed them
southern injun empire, very interesting people

it's an injun word, it means "downriver people"

On my way to speak French on the rock rn

Thanks. I'll give it a looksy.

Are there any redmen left in our can sauce or did they all get trail of tears'd?

Attached: resized_99261-img_1870_23-15793_t598.jpg (598x368, 40.32K)

we have less than 20,000 in a state of 3 million
all the trail of tears came through arkansas interestingly enough at one point in their journey
we've got little markers all over where the walkways they took were

Interdasting
Also very sad

I opened a thing of old garlic and o aaa o fuck its spirit exited the jar and is now residing in my nostril

Many of your injuns are the same as american ones, their numbers are not that low

No I mean just in regards to Arkansas specifically.
Though ours aren't in much greater shape than yours even though we basically left them alone completely.

One of the flag holders at Iwo Jima was a Pima injun named Ira Hayes. He drank himself to death in the middle of the desert in '55. Johnny Cash did a song about him.

Attached: Ira Hayes.jpg (1400x933, 233.16K)

the ballad of ira hayes is dank as fuck
CALL HIM DRUNKEN IRA HAYES
HE WON'T ANSWER ANYMORE
NOT THE WHISKEY DRINKIN INDIAN
NOR THE MARINE THAT WENT TO WAR

CALL HIM DRUNKEN IRA HAYES
HE WON'T ANSWER ANYMORE
NOT THE WHISKEY DRINKIN INJUN
NOR THE MARINE THAT WENT TO WAR

What's your favorite song by him?

Listen up Fuckheads

Some of you are going to hate what I'm here to tell you, but in the end, you'll thank me.

Ever had your fancy car deliberately scratched with a key? Or sugar poured in the gas tank? Or something else done deliberately to it, so as to partially destroy your overpriced vehicle in some way? It was probably me. And the reason? FUCK YOU. You don't NEED it.

Now some of you assholes are probably sitting there thinking, "why would some jerk de-value my ultra-expensive car that I worked very long and hard, for?" See the above reason, dickhead. You only need a REGULAR car. Oh, and two other reasons. One, I'm levelling the playing-field. Do you NEED something with fancy gadgets and unnecessary comfort, while you drive around being a poncy, pantomime, pillow-biting prick and a cunt on the road?

No

Do you NEED something that travels so far and beyond just about every speed limit in the world, unnecessarily endangering the lives of pedestrians young and old, tall and short?

NO

I'M the guy that brings everyone back to their senses. I'M the guy who pours paint-stripper down that little gap where the hood meets the windows, and fucks your engine big-time. I'M the guy who uses pre-planned routes to slip in and out of wealthy areas like a fucking ghost, using soft shoes, gloves and other items of clothing that will never be traced back to me, finding expensive vehicles that patrons park on the side of the road at night instead of in a garage. I'M the guy who gets away with it. Every. TIME.

I'm the guy who makes you think TWICE before purchasing stupid shit you don't NEED. Downgrade your stupid death machine to something that gets you around, Retards.

looks olmec

Picking a favourite Cash song is like picking a favourite child
His sound also varied so wildly from one era to the next that it's like taking 5 individual artists and picking one song out of their combined discography

10/10 would read again

That's pretty cute.
