I suffer in brazil

Still here tho
Have wide sandy beaches is absolutely god tier.
I always took it for granted that all beaches are like that, but for example around the Mediterranean sand beaches often are rare and artificial. Very sad
>around the Mediterranean sand beaches often are rare and artificial.
you what ?
It depends a lot on the country. For example Malta, Greece and Croatia have lots of rocky 'beaches' due to elevation and general geography.
The type of beach you find along the Atlantic for the most part is just not a given all around the world, that was what I'm saying.
I spent my childhood at Marseillan and those kilometers of sandy beaches were a given to me, but you're probably right.
Yeah I think France and Spain also hardly suffer from rocky beaches, I didn't even know they were a thing until I went to Malta. You couldn't just walk in a straight line to the sea and find a beach. And in Croatia it was even worse, though that's probably due to the islands they have blocking their coastline.
YOU DON"T KNOW THE DISAPPOINTMENT AND PAIN.
Those are just very large grains of sand bro.
The entire Brazil isn't like Rio
wow, Brazilian bitches look like shit
They hurt so much. And if you are lucky they are 110°C in the sun.
I prefer the rocky beaches, it keeps the tourists away, there is more wildlife to see while snorkling, it's more private...
Big and wide sandy beaches are bland and boring
There is a special place in hell for you
I never had a worse experience than going to a rocky beach. Literally everything was hard, sharp and slippery but if you ever were to fall you are destined to be hurt really badly.
Yeah going to the beach in the Finistère must be the best.
Nigga where did you even go? The med at least here has a lot of great sandy beaches, best in europe and some of the best in the world. And it's good to have variety, rocky beaches can be kino as well, not to mention they filter a lot of tourists so there's less people in them.
Soul
Soulless
yes, the mediterannean beaches are overcrowed, too hot and devoid of animal life
I have family in Corfu, and have also been to Crete. You won't ever find me saying you don't have great beaches, not to mention beautiful perfect temperature water, but I just found it weird that I couldn't walk in the direction of the sea and find a beach there. Often the good beaches required us to drive for a few kilometers with the car.
you know that the sand come from the movement of the waves?
it's normal sea have less
fucking nordcvcks are so dumb
malta is a shithole
Yes I know that. But that doesn't explain why some parts of the Med have proper beaches and others don't. Geography is a huge factor, arguably bigger than the sea.
What a pussy.
Speaking of which, sand does stick in your private parts, I prefer those "rocks" even if where I live we have both.
I grew up in front of the sea, we know very well where to walk and where not.
If you don't do rookies mistakes they are actually pretty comfy.
Corfu is probably the worst island for beaches in greece in general. I've lived abroad and I know lots of NW european tourists go there for the greek experience for some reason, but they realise it's not actually the tropical paradise they envisioned. Crete is much better for that. The lagoon beaches of Balos and Elafonisi are some of the best I've been to worldwide, period.
You're not wrong however in realising that you don't find beaches everywhere. The med in general is just rocks next to a sea, so beach formations aren't as common as in tropical islands. But on tropical islands you don't get stuff like pic related either. Anyway, the issue of the entire shore not being a beach is why public transport (or car renting) exists during the summer, you start around 11am, get a bus to the beach you want and spend the entire day there. If you have a car it's even better and more convenient.
wat 90% of beaces are sandy
Yeah Crete is really beautiful though it's also surprisingly large. I think it's my favorite island
I'm just explaining that from what I know Western-Europe almost exclusively has sandy beaches by default as we don't have rocks (only Bretange and parts of England). So people here are always surprised when they arrive in the Med and find out the sea doesn't have a beach by default.
In Tunisia I'm sure. But what about Moroccan and Algerian coast?
Yeah crete is good despite the cavemen-tier people. It's like a mini greece in one island, mountains, gorges, beaches, ancient & medieval era ruins and towns, great regional cuisine, all the good stuff.
What is your opinion on Heraclion?
Compared to say Palma de Mallorca I found it very underwhelming to the point we stayed away as much as possible.
So many beautiful small towns though
Haven't been to Mallorca but they're not really comparable I think. Heraklio is a common destination for greeks from the mainland, students and such, it's a working city. Crete in general is known here as having a good economy beyond tourism, despite being popular as a tourist destination abroad. The big cretan cities are not tourist cities at all. I guess it depends on what you didn't like about it? I don't remember having much of an issue, the venetian stuff is nice, it's a hub for going to sites like knossos etc. If you're talking about architecture and urban beauty and the like then heraklio isn't really special in greece, most cities have the post-ww2 modern look, a lot of medieval or neoclassical stuff was demolished to build flats in the cities. Which is why you see such a difference in cities vs small towns where they have the traditional stone houses with red-tiled roofs etc.
Well yeah it's exactly like you said, a rather modern 'normal' city which contrasted heavily with the traditional old towns everywhere else on the island.
Palma de Mallorca in comparison just has a much larger 'old' city centre.
