I don't know why heroin is so big here, suppose it all came about after the loss of heavy industry and people being left unemployed. Heroin junkies are generally pretty harmless though, they just slop about in a zombified haze trying to get 20p for the bus etc. I'd pick that over meth/crackheads desu.

Because during the 70s and 80s Scotland's economy was wrecked by Westminster making thousands unemployed and disenfranchising an entire generation of young Scots. Lots of those people turned to drugs.
