What is the appeal of "football" culture in america? I don't understand it...

Honestly, there’s many reasons. It used to be about American ideals. After all, it is basically a game of physical war over land where toughness, bravado, and work ethic are rewarded. You used to often hear people talk about players along the lines of “He’s a lunch pale kind of guy” and it invokes images of this hardworking blue collar rural type which seems to fit the Football persons so well. It used to be about a shared sense of community and a big influence was actually college football, maybe more than professional. It was an excuse to get together, have fun, drink and eat, and if you’re a player maybe be some one your community values before you basically fade away into vague wage slavery. The star of the football team is usually someone who’s viewed as embodying community ideals in a land where being tough, resilient, and popular are celebrated above most other things. Eventually it turned into a athleticism cult and now the chief reason is probably just consumerist hero worship and living vicariously through the players. I mean I won’t go so far as to say it’s totally different but anyone who remembers 1990s era college football knows that differs from college and pro football today. It’s closer to something Marvel movies than a community event now. At the high school level it’s still just a community thing to do that keeps families busy together and lets old timers relive their glory days as the star quarterback.

There’s also a lot pageantry and traditional ceremony surrounding football that gets all sorts of people in on it. Like I don’t know if it’s a thing in European “soccer” but here the football team has cheerleaders, a marching band, if there’s ceremonies for student council, homecoming, etc. they usually happen during football games. There’s dancers. There’s gymnastics. They have celebrations for veterans. The local kids look forward to the Friday night football to hang out with the girl they have a crush on. It’s honestly just sort of a thing around which many things converge.

Yeah, well. Americans have a tendency to make a grand display of things. These things are all cool at first but they get to a point where they just reach absurdity and can actually be pretty negative.

Their men sit around watching nigger ball while their women sit around watching nigger talk shows. They worship niggers like Muhammad Ali and Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson and the late Mike Tyson while attacking the whites who actually built their country before niggers took over. Their movies are filled with niggers and their music charts are topped by niggers. They send niggers to the Olympics and celebrate when the niggers win because those niggers are true red blooded american niggers. They watch nigger porn to a point where "BBC" does not make them think of an international media company but about nigger penises instead. They will tell you how much they hate niggers and how the mutt's law meme is a stale joke and they are just pretending to love niggers but the evidence speaks for itself in that America has always been and will be a nation of nigger loving nigger
