Got rid of
> my sleeping problems
> random panic attacks
> random adrenaline shocks
> much more calmer and reasonable
Any body know that feel? I drank at least a cup of coffee since the last 15 years and I feel that I've been addicted to sth harmful w/o knowing it.
Stopped drinking Cofee for two days
*I drank at least a cup of coffee a day
>being addicted to fucking coffee
You’re a huge gaping pussy bro
Weak, I drink 3 cups of black coffee each morning and if I feel my heart going a little too fast I just smoke 2 or 3 cigarettes at breakfast, skip everything. If I’m feeling good I’ll eat 2 eggs, bacon and a little bread with butter.
I drink it everyday and have none of those problems
> I drink 3 cups of black coffee each morning
I did that too, that's not the point. It is about the harmful effects most people dont notice because they drink coffee regularly.
I used to be okay with it as well for 10+ years, but I got all these problems. I guess it is related to stress levels. It is like with alcohol: you tend to get problems with habitual consumption when you're under pressure.
wait is 1 cup a day alot? i drink like 5-6
The only thing I get from stopping coffee is crushing headaches.
>random panic attacks
What are you? A 15 year old girl?
I like coffe but I does nothing to me other than filling the bladder. I could drink a bunch of it before bed and sleep soundly and it doesn't wake me up or give me energy in the morning.
Doesn't coffee lose its effect if you drink it everyday
Didn't fix my sleep issues (no exercises) but I can tolerate the noise of my loud parents now, anything would take my concentration. For reference I used to drink a litter of coffee a day, started to drink it as a way to study longer when I was in uni, I don't even like the taste of the drink that much.
How often do you drink it
Nowadays a couple times a week because I don't have a machine. But I used to drink everyday when I was in school. I mainly drank and drink it because of the taste and to pass the time.
This. I noticed that as well, that you get much easier agitated and hazy with coffee. For example when I heard a loud unexpected noise (door slamming while I am reading a book) I'd get a feelable adrenaline shock. I though this was normal until I stopped drinking coffee.
You establish some tolerance but typically you still feel the effect. Tolerance is the reason why people start drinking more, however, most people stop before the amount of coffee is large enough to trigger the serious side effects (tachycardia, motoric tremor).
I didn't drink coffee for half a year to see what kind of effect it would have (normally did a cup or two a day). Haven't really noticed anything that I could say changed because of it. I certainly feel better than before, but I wouldn't be so quick to say it was due to me drinking coffee. Drinking it again I'll get headaches sometimes. If someone offers it to me, sure, I can drink every once in a while, but I'll still stick to tea on my own time.
No
I always drink coffee before sleeping
>I certainly feel better than before, but I wouldn't be so quick to say it was due to me drinking coffee.
Yeah, it is difficult to separate it clearly from other influences. However, if one has problems with the typical negative symptoms of coffee one should consider trying to stop consumption. I noticed the paradoxial effect that even though coffee helped me to work more on the short term, it worsened my capabilities to handle stress overall.
I drank coffee last weeek and coudlnt sleep all night long
once?
no many times but last week was particularly hard
Around what times? Afternoon?
Good job user, you can be addicted to something without even realizing it
coffe does not do it for me anymore so to keep my self awake for the final exams grind i chug a 1/2L monster right after breakfast
I could do that when I was a student as well. Take care when you get older, it may affect you negatively.
I am thinking of doing the same. Decided to quit both drinking and the buds for a bit after lockdown as it is wasted money. Redpill me on quitting coffee. I drink 2 cups a day (first thing in morning than another at 11am).
I would only be drinking green tea/water if I quit coffee.
no it was at 2pm my mother put the coffee in freezer made it hyperactive
gay lole
I wouldn't give up coffee because I need it to stay awake in the hellscape of wageslavery and I also really like when I shit really hard about an hour after drinking a cup or two.
There is little information out there about the negative effects of caffeine, it's hard to judge as its effects vary strongly among people. However, it is known that it decreases sleep quality and length, worsens your response to stress and can make you more anxious. What surprised me is that most side effects are quite subtle and you only note the difference if you go abstinent for a prolonged time, at least several weeks. Most people don't notice them as they drink a cup every day for years and don't go cold turkey more than a week or so. Reducing the dose is also an option, however, I made the experience that if you feel the positive effects you'll also feel the negative ones. You have to think about the fact that caffeine blocks the adenosine pathway, a mechanism which makes you feel your physical limits. If your brain cells get tired they need rest, by consuming coffee you suppress that feeling, but not the need. It seems obvious to me that there is some wear and tear of your neurological system involved if one does that every day.
Make a simple test : go 1-2 days cold turkey on coffee and ask yourself whether you feel a craving. I had experience with stopping smoking and I got similar cravings with caffeine. That was the moment I desided to stop.
I know that feel. Only decided to stop when my brother told me it helped him a lot.
I used to drink 2 cups of coffee a day, out of habit more than out of liking it. I didn't get cravings when I stopped, but I did get some annoying headaches in the afternoon if I didn't get my coffee after lunch. They go away after a couple days with no coffee, though
I notice absolutely no effect, whether I drink a lot then stop or don’t drink at all, only time I really noticed anything was when I was a kid and retarded and took too many coffeine pills
Each time you drink coffee you get an adrenaline and dopamine release (which eventually wears your body down). Panic attacks are because of high adrenalin.
The headaches I got as well. Difficult to tell whether I got them from stopping to drink coffee but I am almost sure. That's cool that you don't feel anything. However, when you get problems with sleep/anxiety, maybe it's the coffee. You could always try to stop caffeine intake for a month and see whether overall quality of life improved.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I downplayed the effects before as I thought I am fine because I drank coffee since 15+ years
