The mainstream is now a politically correct form of racism that recognizes racial distinction but avoids actual integration or merging into a single national identity. An effort to forget racism, slavery, and everything related to it must be made to be reborn as a single nation and not diffuse tribes.

Blacks are not a tribe, they're not an ethnicity, they don't have their own separate government or administration. They are all subjects to US law as citizens under no king. From slavery to jim crowe to civil rights to now, black americans are impacted more by social failings like poverty, health, and crime. At no point was an honest effort to rectify the uneven footing between blacks and whites has been carried out to completion
Not all exploitation is equal. Yeah irish folks love to talk about their (still real) oppression, but its clearly not anywhere near the same severity as something like segregationist america (which isnt the worst blacks faced and isnt even older than living memory)
Race is something to ultimately be forgotten and moved past, however any efforts to mitigate discussions about race before the hill of social and racial equity is overcome really only serves to harm the disadvantaged
Leaving race behind is an end goal, but cant be safely achieved until true equality is reached first

You can look up studies and articles from the internet. It's a complex thing so better read many articles and studies yourself.

But basically black people are treated worse in US in many, many ways. Like how willing employers are willing to employ, how many times cops pull over black people compared to whites, how black people areas have shittier public schools, housing, infrastructure etc, how the attitude towards black people is more negative compared to white people etc. etc. etc.
