Well, I'd say that everyone is fair-skinned, many have green/blue eyes, and less people have truly blond hair.. So kind of yeah, you can spot a nordic dude over here and it is not rare.

Well if you look at government, we have officially banned communistic propaganda (including soviet hymn & maps of all of the republics) and also in recent years we renamed many cities, streets and regions that contained communistic elements to it. We also destroyed many monuments of soviet-era leaders. (Not all of them, though). Exception being Crimea & ORDLO.

As from peoples perspective - zoomers should hate it. We are teached in schools for many years now about all the terror, war communism, holodomor, dissidents etc. So really, I expect any, even apolitical, man or woman under their 40's to hate on USSR. However boomers and people over I'd say 40-50 may be not as critical of it. Their opinion is irrelevant nontheless, because it is understandable that they had their childhood and young age during that era, and obviously, they remember only good thing about it.

3. I'd say positive, many politicians say we should follow your steps to reabilitate from communistic rule. My uncle was serving soviet army near Riga and he said he liked the city alot, many friendly people but sea is cold as hell.
4. Yes it is safe everywhere basically. But I'd bring a local friend desu, since not many people speak english in rural areas.
