How old are you ? You realize the 1970s is when our parents lived right ? It's not far at all and not harder than now either ... I'm relatively young, i was born in 1991, i prefectly remember most of my childhood i had no video games, no netflix, no youtube, no facebook and so on. And it was great. Things aren't much better now, if anything they're worse. Maybe you're very young and just hopelessly addicted to screens ? In which case, just turn off your computer.
