Drugs and Druglords

Will i get kidnapped and decapitado if I were to drive down one of those jungle roads to Brazil?

you're a gringo so yes

You'll probably be sold as a sex slave before being decapitated.

Some regions, not sure if they're full jungle or part andes, also this but little bit more to the south, search for VRAEM you have a military base there bro, its full of narcoterrorist dont go there

thats in the south, what about the middle and north? how populated is it there?

Why would anyone like to go an unpopulated area in South America? It's basically a death sentence.
Hell, even if you go to any area in South America that is not a tourist district you are in danger. In Spain pic related is a common joke

It has two well-defined parts, the highlands (to the east) and the lowlands. I've been to the highlands. A road connects Lima directly with some mayor cities on the central part. What do you want to know?

is it based?

it will drive you nuts

Yeah very based, people are and treat you great, not like in the shithole that is my beloved Lima. Food is great too, but that's a personal preference. Coca leaf cultivation used to be huge there, but government programs have, since the 80s, succesfully erradicated big plantations in most parts of the region, which now experience a boom of alternative crops, like coffee, ginger, pineapples, and oranges. Climate is somewhat comfy for a tropical jungle because of the altitude.

What are the best towns to visit in that region? And how do you get there from Lima?

highlands are in the west though

Bro people in this región treated him well because he is clearly and introvert incel that doesn't go out, it is dangerous, it is like the town of my grandma, a hellhole full of violent warlords

No but you will lose a lot of money for being a dumb gringo, will get robbed of money in shit negotiations all the time if not actually robbed with a gun to the head.

I wish to explore the primordial jungle

Again, I can only talk about the central part of the jungle but you can't go wrong with the Chanchamayo province, La Merced is the capital and has some nice waterfalls near. Truly a lovely place. San Ramón is also good. Couldn't find my pictures
fuck i'm retarded

From Lima you can go to any mayor city of Perú except from Iquitos. To get there you can travel by boat from Yurimaguas or Pucallpa and you'll arrive in Iquitos in three days(and apreciate the nature on the way), or going by plane.
Iquitos, Yurimaguas, Oxapampa, Satipo, Quillabamba and Tarapoto are all great places. Also there is a little town of germans called Posuzo who you'll also find enjoyable, I went there with my wife last year and they're very hospitable and nice.

go by land I mean

Yeah the Germans at Pozuzo are funny people, and they make German food in the middle of the peruvian jungle

Yes but the reason they came in the first place is really much more obscure.

yeah they didn't tell me anything about that
weird place

Ramon Castilla was the president then and in one conversation with a representative of the Austro-Hungarian they made a deal in which they would sent 10.000 people to settle down on Pozuzo, Castilla also committed for the goverment of Perú would pay everything for them.
Austro-Hungarians sent them, they traveled for four months, some died in the travel. Then the Goverment of Perú sent them to Cerro de Pasco and gave them a map of how to make it to Pozuzo, because there wasn't a road to Oxapampa then Pozuzo. They made it to Pozuzo and the goverment didn't pay them anything, so they just settle there and go full agro. They even made the road to Oxapampa.

Also, the real intention of the Austro-Hungarian Empire was to use them to colonize the rest of the jungle and eventually took it over for themselves. But they were as lazy as ourselves and never did anything to help the settlers.

no, but I know that Iquitos is the largest city in the world that cant be accessed by land

Correct. And most likely it never will.

why? just chop down some trees right?

>They made it to Pozuzo and the goverment didn't pay them anything, so they just settle there and go full agro. They even made the road to Oxapampa.
fucking kek
habsburgs sneaky as usual

humid and dangerous (natives)
dad regularly goes there for work and tries not to die

There are lot of rivers that flows in that part.
Kinda impossible to make a road there.

Is not viable.
First of all, between the largest city from Iquitos and Iquitos itself (Yurimaguas), there is the Pacaya Samiria Natural reserve, so a road between them it they must avoid it. Second, there is not a town over the population of 200 people between them, not kidding. So it must be constructed a long ass road between them and provide the different services needed for the people traveling in the way. Gasoline, eventual repairing services, tires all must be brought without the help of privates. Third, the orography, is a fucking hell, adding to that those fucking giant storms, mud
avalanches, seasonal floods would it make it incredebly expensive only just to mantain it. Fourth, right now, you can do the same just going there by boat.
It will never have a road

You're brown so no.

Paddington comes from there.

Truly fascinating. Thanks for the knowledge user. How the fuck did Brazilians did it with Manaos or Acre?

Hmm, always thought it was Manaus.
