i read somewhere that Japan and the USSR never signed a peace treaty. You guys should just shoot them

I agree. But at the same time I think you could've prepared for this. Russians didn't expect the USSR to fall apart when they gave you Crimea. It was an empty gesture to appease Ukrainians, because technically it was still owned by the USSR. It was obvious that the moment the USSR fell apart Russia would be interested in taking it back because of its strategic value. Ukraine could've prevented this by being cautious.
Now you'll have to take it back by force.

>In 2016, an ambitious program was approved which hoped to resettle at least 500,000 Ukrainians in the Far East.

let's form a union, we will protect you and you will work for us :^)

>Ukraine could've prevented this by being cautious.
How exactly? Writing a stern letter? Burning even more money they don't have on maintaining more aging Soviet military hardware?
Only realistic defense would have been retaining ex-soviet nukes but I don't think they were under the control of Ukrainian forces at all

Crimeans disagree with you

ok crimea is the ukraine but the ukraine is russia

You would be better off just accepting that it's gone and focusing on quelling the ethnic Russian rebels in the East. Russia will never let Crimea go, ever again.

It could've put more effort into trying to join NATO and the EU. Also could've done something with the Russians living there so they can't do a referendum, like offering them cheaper housing elsewhere so they willfully resettle.

>the ethnic Russian rebels in the East
Gigacringe
They are khohols

Is there really that much difference in those border regions? Regardless Ukraine would still be better off cutting its losses and dealing with them rather than trying to retake Crimea

you think room temp iq slavniggers can understand that? all they know is that they lost clay and that offense can only be forgiven by the blood of hundreds of thousands of young russian boys. slavs are permanantly pissed at each other and as the years go by they will eventually kill each other into extinction

Sounds like the most based group of people ever existing

Lol
They could’ve prevented it by waiting 6 months for the next legitimate presidential election, instead of chimping out under the pressure of CIA. That was literally their own fault, and they keep doing shit that will destroy their country in the end. For example, selling all of their land to IMF, does that sound like a good idea to you? A country that owns no land?

OH NO NO NO WE GOT TOO COCKY HOHOLBROS

Do you really think Russia would have allowed that, even under Yeltsin?
Russia provided security assurances through the US-brokered Budapest memorandum and look how much that helped 20 years later. Relinquishing their nuclear capabilities was a huge mistake but the pressure from the US to disarm was intense

In which case Russia will make short work of them in the years ahead - though perhaps if they didn't even have the foresight to realise that, then nothing of value will be lost.

Idk, Yanukovych put in jail most of the oposition, yes all was forced by the US and Germany but I suppose they feared that he could end as dictator like Lukashenko.

Country cannot join neither NATO nor EU as long as they have disputed territories. That's why Crimea has been annexed.

Ukrainians are good people and I want our countries to reconcile, and then unite in one country, which we will call Russia.

But they always had legitimate elections, and even Yanukovich was no tyrant by any means. Poroshenko quite literally jailed opposition and prolonged bloodshed, yet he’s not even punished by it. Also he literally sold his country to Joe Biden, as recent telephone call leaks prove.

It isn't de facto Ukraine currently, but that's even better. I want the Russian gov to drown in sanctions even more. They got what they deserved desu

I'm not saying that he was replaced by a democratic government, just a pro EU/US "dictators", similar to what US do in their postwars.

Ok italchuk lol, oh nooooo I’m dying already, the sanctions killed me ahhhhhh ohh nooooo

The Cossack grabs everything that is loose

Fun fact: cockholes are so butthurt about loss of Crimea that they call crimeans “traitors” and dream of how they will “punish” them after they regain it
