I'd say Bali is pretty well known, especially for Australian. Though most people don't know that Bali is in Indonesia itself.

In terms of business prospects, Indonesia has a vast untapped labor pool that's less organized than in other outsourcing countries like India or China, so you can just go in a village and informally organize workers if you want and save thousands of dollars. Ubud also has a thriving artist community with many beautiful houses filled to the brim with art, not to mention a monkey temple and the best possible way of cooking pig meat (Babi guling from Wari Babi Guling Ibu Ola 3, pic related, also has petting zoo w/ exotic birds to play w when done eating). I've spent about 2 months in Indonesia, still wish I had more time there. Very based, high test, definitely kino.

I don't need nor would I expect famous people to come from a young nation still finding itself. I couldn't name any aside from politicians, but you forget that WW2 had already completely ended before Indonesia federalized into the state it is today. The dead and the famous are not who I meet in other countries, so why would I avoid a country for something so frivilous?
