Plus even though your nation itself may be small you are all part of a larger landmass that you can travel around easily whereas we are just small and our borders are physical so we actually do literally just end

The main one is just due to the sheer distance from other countries it negatively impacts trade, making both importing foreign goods as well as exporting our goods to foreign markets more costly and time consuming which makes it a bit more difficult to grow our economy and results in higher prices for goodsThis was being mitigated somewhat as technology advanced and the world was becoming more interconnected however due to the Covid outbreak and the resulting anti-china sentiment it looks like countries are starting to lean towards more of a national economic model
This might not be so bad for some but NZ just doesn't have the industry necessary to fulfil all the needs of our population

much of their economy is already agricultural exports, the north island is like wisconcin, everything is a dairy farm for export to asia
