I wanna say the 90's but they were shitty in other aspects. Despite the war the late 40's seemed okay. It was before McCarthyism

Either world war really. read up on leafs involvements on the allied fronts, we were shock troops, ace pilots, drove the germans off at ypres. all sorts of shit. it also put us on the track towards independence from yookay.
probably 1998-2008, economically
1860's maybe, when we were on top on every level and life got better
never heard about canadians in wws
1920s
1950s
1990s
they did a lot of shit and got none of the credit they deserved. Canadians took Juno Beach with no opposition and did a good chunk of work on the Italian campaign too. also liberation of the Netherlands. that's just off the top of my head.
1991-2008
This was the peak of neoliberal capitalism. The communists were defeated and most people enjoyed decent living standards. 9/11 changed a lot and was the beginning of the end but then the 2008 collapse finished off our working class and was the death knell of the middle class. Now neoliberal capitalism is collapsing and this collapse is unstoppable.

depending on how things play out then this decade and the next could either be the best or worst
Yes.
80s-00s
90s, no doubt about it. A sacred 10 years we got to breathe without some kind of existential rival plaguing our collective psyche. It wasn't a perfect utopian decade, but before 9/11, the future never seemed brighter.
