Because they thought we were gonna turn full ""fascist"" and go "extreme right" when it was all a lie. When the Flips got back democracy in 1986, it's made sure to cherish hardly the freedom it took back. That's why Flipland has strong values on free expression and free press almost unrestricted compared to even the most democratic places of asia.
