I was thinking about the state in America currently. It seems like they are already in some embarrassing low-level civil war, but they are unwilling to go all the way and have a proper civil war.
But why?
Isn't that which is worth doing also worth doing properly? Besides, I am certain that a civil war would do them much good. Currently they are in perpetual low-level conflict. And it has been such for a long time. So why not solve it once and for all? Just have your civil war now and be done with it. Also I think it would be quite pleasant. There is so much stress and conflict in American politics. What better way to relieve the stress associated with constantly hating your enemies than to start shooting at them?
Americans: I hope that you have seen the wisdom of my words. Go and have a civil war. I know you want it. Good luck.

Civil war? You Euros seem to really underestimate how massive America actually is. There are over 300 million of us. The rioters and protesters you see on the news are literally only happening on a couple streets. That's it. In fact I was just in Downtown LA, supposedly one of the "hotspots" and I saw.....nothing...There was a group of people on a street corner holding Black Lives Matter signs but that's it. They weren't even violent.

I think you underestimate the merits of civil war. It is the most powerful solution for internal strife, and a boon to the psychology of the population. At once, all divisions in society are healed (or, more accurately, killed off), and people emerge as brothers, ready to work together. Ah, what a wonderful thing!

We're acting defensively, as in self-defense, because we're not all psychopaths that just want to go out and start shooting people because of some Twitter post (oh some of us sure but those are a minority, with any luck though you'll get what you wanted)

I think there should be disciplinary firing squads for all jobs. When someone makes a serious fuckup, he is shot.

We're talking no reason at all, not even probable cause.
If an officer was coming after me for no reason, no probable cause, and offensively with no communication of intent, or of what my right are, and he had a gun, and I shot first and killed him, I would get away with it because that was a truly rogue officer. Most police brutality cases are not completely unbased

I don't understand how all this fits into violence against civilians. Here in Germany we have something we call "appropriate use of force" and I am pretty sure that nearly every other country in the world has something similar.
