I don't know of any islands around here with airstrips. I've seen that's common in Orkney, but it's not the case here since all islands are close enough to the mainland for shorter ferry trips to service all needs. My closest airport with passenger traffic is Landvetter.

in orkney, the shetlands and the hebrides, they have regular flights between islands which essentially function as a bus service
people there commute daily on a plane to work on another island
orkney has the world's shortest flight which takes only 90 seconds

haven't asked. I wouldn't be able to guess either, they seem extremely patriotic to England
