Train is a much more relaxed way to travel, most of the times you arrive in the city centre (which saves a lot of time) and most importantly it is the greenest way to travel and save the planet :3

I thought Europeans only took planes if they were cheaper. In there US, even if we developed a better interstate train system it still wouldn't beat flying in terms of efficiency once you get away from the eastern seaboard.
It depends on distances. It makes little sense to go from Rome to Milan by plane when you can get there in less than 3 hours by train, but I'd fly if I had to travel between Beijing and Shenzhen for example.

Cant do trains here. They would only ever be viable between Melbourne and Sydney since it's such a high traffic air route. All other routes would still be by plane

The Swedish government is investing heavily in overnight trains to continental Europe and I have to say that's based. Say you were going from Stockholm to Berlin by overnight train vs plane.
