The reason for the popularity of astrology is that it appeals to two mayor human preferences : Categories and discriminations
If you gave someone cardboard cutouts of the alphabet and two boxes that said "Even" and "Odd" they'd probably try to sort them out.
Astrology and signs allows us to categorize people (That's something a scorpio would do, he acts like a libra, he fits like an aries)

On top of that, people love complinents, specially more so, women love compliments.

Horoscopes are meant to be as flattery and vague as possible, saying shit like "You have some amazing skills" without ever defining said skills, therefore, it could be anything, from building rocket ships, to cleaning the dishes or that you have an "inteligent" humor, without ever defining what falls under the category of "inteligent humor".

Since people love compliments and good qualites, they like to believe in astrology to be put on the category of their sign (Honorable, intelligents, stoic) and astrology pages often disregard or avoid using more direct, less appealing words like asshole, cunt, son of a bitch.
An horoscope will tell you that you have a "selective" friendship pattern and that's why you have so few friends, or that you're "raw and honest" instead of downright telling you "You're an absolute fucking cunt, and that's why nobody likes you"

Now, why do women love the horoscope so much?
