I can see what youre saying but I think american and western society as a whole would be better if we started over in early 1900's
a world war 1 would probably still happen but it would be interesting to see under what conditions and maybe different immigrants could come to america and change it in different ways, or not as many immigrants so it stayed anglo, or perhaps it was conquered by Canada

my great-uncle made a living in Nevada selling ice cream at near-minimum wage and could afford the rent of a great apartment, was able to pay for his college and raise a kid and still had spending money for cool shit like a car
