Most of the school has Chinese and Japanese class as it's the easiest and cheapest to learn and capable of getting good score on the SAT.

I never took SAT but chose Japanese in 1st grade of high school but soon realized it's waste of time to learn it so in 2nd grade I changed it to Chinese.
My high school gave scholarship if I pass those language exams so I have JLPT N3 and HSK 3級 plus TOEIC 905 totally useless price of shit t bh
Yes some people are taking Csat more than once to get into decent Uni.
And yes you can enter uni only with your gpa without taking csat but it depends on the uni's policy but mostly you can.
