That's not the history they want. They want history that elevates them above their current status. They want a history of inventors, musicians, explorers, and kings. They have all of these, you even said so, but not in the light they want. They want other people's history because it is more glamorous or globally popular. They want the history that is written in American and European history books and archives, not the history of nomadic people in Africa having to deal with tsetse files.
