I didn't invent a world where race matters but other people have so I'm not going to live as if it doesn't and just play pretend when there are stark contrasts in how different groups and cultures act. Pretty much any statistic that counts different races from anything to general wealth, crime rate, level of education, etc. shows these contrasts and some shit on my own race as well. Still I will not simply swallow a happy pill and put on blinders as if I live in fairy land. I spent a lot of time growing up in areas where I was a minority, and the behavior I saw between different groups has convinced me that pretty much every racial group fights to protects itself and ostracize everyone else and racial factions can arise anywhere, even groups that are traditionally "oppressed" can easily be just as volatile and oppressive towards others. I don't larp as a neo-nazi or anything like that but I do largely feel comfortable sticking around people closest to me and probably never will willingly move into a majority black or hispanic neighborhood if I can help it, given that in almost every case these places will be remarkably shittier than white majority areas unless you compare them to appalachia rednecks or something like that.

If recognizing these social dynamics makes me whatever you want to call me then call me that. I'm sure in different parts of the world the situation is very different, but with how the US has developed it's not so simple.

all of those things exist for caring about race and dividing themselves, it will stop since people start realize it's meaningless

true, but i grew up around whites with a similar genetic heritage to mine, and my family's history in my community runs deep. I am not going to discriminate against someone for wanting to join our community, but there is a culture and identity here that comes with race and that needs to be protected
