When i work i rarely work for 8 hours. And often I work on holidays and saturdays, sometimes even sundays. During worst times we have like one day off per month. But i like my job, so most of the times isnt that hard. Also load distribution is usually peak based, after peak is done it can be almost zero work per day. Just that it doesnt last that long and you get another project to break balls over.
